A prisoner of the Empire

Note- may contain some spoilers for Andor episode 8 in terms of some circumstances and set design.

Bix woke up in a small white cell, one in a corridor full of identical cells. Several dozen women were starting their day with her, all prisoners of the Empire and sentenced to Narkina 5.

"Fall in!" The woman who ran Bix's floor called, and she stepped out into the corridor. At least they had not realised just how much she was involved in the Rebellion, they had arrested her on some trumped-up nonsense charges, all she had to do was keep her head down and she'd be out and free in a while.

The women turned and proceeded to the door at the end, and into a large room with vents in the ceiling and floor. There they stripped naked, dropping yesterday's white prison uniforms and pink prison-issue underwear into chutes to the incinerator, before standing spaced apart from each other. A cleansing mist descended from the ceiling vents, effectively killing germs and removing dirt, and making Bix long for a real shower or, even better, a bath.

The mist disappeared into the floor vents and the naked women walked into the next room to collect clean clothes from a numbered cubby hole.
