Monica is here

"Did I interrupt naptime?"

Lauren jumped in surprise, almost dropping her pillow as she saw Monica looking at her with a smirk and a giggle while she was sitting on the couch with Lauren's mother. What was she doing here?!

"Seriously, Lauren." Her mother said with a sigh, shaking her head. "Why are you running around, covering yourself like that. From what Daryl's charming new girlfriend tells me, pretty much everyone has seen the real you already."

Lauren almost threw up at Monica being called Daryl's "girlfriend", remembering that the latter had mentioned something about a date with him.

"Anyway," Her mother said, "your father's out back cooking dinner, so it should be ready in a few minutes."

Lauren sighed. Well, that solved her hunger problem at least. Now, however, she still needed to pee. Looking away from her mother and Monica, the little woman awkwardly crab walked towards the bathroom.

"And just where do you think you're going?" Her mother asked, raising an eyebrow as Lauren stopped mid shuffle. "I told you that dinner will be ready soon!"

"But I have to go to the - "

"Ugh!" Her mother groaned, turning to Monica. "You know what? I think I just might take you up on that offer, Monica. I mean, between back talking, lying, almost getting you fired, and the tantrum you said she threw at work. I think it's safe to say that you're more than qualified."

"M-more than qualified for what?" Lauren asked nervously.

"Oh, didn't anyone tell you?" Monica asked with a smirk. "I called earlier and told your mom that if you were as much trouble at home as you were at the office today, then I would be glad to offer my services as your babysitter."

Lauren was so shocked and terrified that she dropped the pillow right then and there, exposing her tiny bug bites and diaper. Babysitter?! It was bad enough that she had been made her caretaker at the office, but now she was going to be her babysitter?! Could this get any worse?!

"Food's done!" Lauren's step-father called out from the backyard, causing Lauren's mother and Monica to stand up from the couch.

"You heard your father, Lauren." Her mother said as she grabbed the little woman's wrist, "Let's go eat."

Now, Lauren had expected that her family (and Monica) would have been eating in the dining room. That's why Lauren panicked when the two other women led her past the dining room, through the kitchen, and out the back door, knowing full well that the backyard of her childhood home didn't have a fence...
