"We'll Both Go Down There !"

"Well they're not going to get away with that" asserted Debbi. "We'll both go down there together this afternoon and give them a piece of our minds !" Carol instantly regretted having given Debbi an expurgated version of the previous day's events when her partner had asked how it had gone. She had merely said that Mrs. Sanders had been rude and uncooperative and had refused to chastise her errant daughter. She had not mentioned the total humiliation that she had suffered when she was 'bagged'.

"Um, maybe it'd be better to let sleeping dogs lie ? They'll probably get bored and lay off Charlie" she said, hoping to dissuade Debbi from embarking on the potentially disastrous course of action. "That's not like you to back down so easily" Debbi responded. "It's your daughter's college career we're talking about. Not to mention it isn't right. I'm sure she'll see sense when she sees both of us turn up. Nobody talks to my mate like that and gets away with it !"

"But we're not dressed for it" Carol argued. She had not intended setting foot anywhere near Chav City today and if she did return she had decided that she would be wearing jeans and several layers. As it was, she was wearing her second best dress and the continuing benign weather had led Debbi to select a floaty summer dress for today. "What do you mean, not dressed for it ? What's our dress got to do with it ?"

"Well, it's a rough area" said Carol. "So what ? It's not as if we're going to challenge them to a catfight or something" Debbi affirmed. "I wouldn't be so sure of that" Carol muttered under her breath but Debbi was still in full flow and didn't hear. "We'll overcome them by superior logic and the **** of our argument !"

Carol was backed into a corner. She still could not bring herself to reveal to Debbi the extent of her downfall yesterday. "There's only Roy from the garage scheduled for this afternoon. I'll put him off 'til tomorrow and we'll do back down there team handed and confront them" Debbi decided.
