Chapter 236

What Skill?
Hydra!
I take a few steps away from the door, not wanting to damage it. Ayashi looks at me a little confused but also excited. I cast Hydra, creating a small orb above my head. Three spectral Hydra heads sprout instantly from it. They're dark blue and I can just barely see through them. The orb itself is a very dark blue. The heads all face the direction I am. I have all three heads charge a blast of pure elemental damage and they each fire them straight up. The shots keep going until I lose sight of them. The Hydra heads stay and I wonder how long they'll last. There's only the 150 MP cost of summoning the heads. So will they stay until I send them away or they die? I shrug and try to send the heads away. It takes a minute for me to do so.
"What kind of spell was that?" Ayashi asks me and I turn around to face her.
"It's called Hydra, I learned it from a Hydra Spellbook." I answer and she nods and thinks about something. I walk up to her and, after about twenty seconds, wave my hand in front of her. "Are you okay?" I ask as she jumps.
"Sorry, I was lost in thought. Anyway, are you ready to try your Mana Transfer?" I nod and step forward. "I'd like you to take more than you need. Not too much though!" She says quickly. "Take a third of what you just used as extra, okay?" She asks and I nod. So, I used 150 to summon the Hydra. Then I spent 250 three times, once for each head. So I used 900, then I'll take 1197 mana. I'll just round that up to 1200. I think before taking the hand she's holding out. I cast Mana Fusion and see a wave of blue energy flowing from her arm down to mine, where my arm absorbs it. I see a number appear above our arms. It starts off as zero and quickly rises. It turns to 1000 after a few seconds and I try to slow it down. Luckily it works and the number stops rising as fast. It reaches 1203, going over because I wasn't ready to let go. I pull away and the spell deactivates. I check my mana and see I have 2,528 current MP out of a max of 2225 MP. "Did it work?" Ayashi asks me and I nod.
"Yep, I have 303 more MP than my max." I answer and she smiles. "Well, before you go I have something to give you." She says while taking a small grey crystal out of the air. "This will take you back here, so if you ever want to chat or anything just stop by. Oh, and you won't be able to message me, sorry but you have to be a full Mythos."
"Okay, thanks. I'll see you later then." I say and she nods before reaching out and creating a red light beneath me. I look down and see it's a magic circle made of light. It grows brighter and brighter until it starts to dim. I look around and see I'm back in my apartment. I don't find any of the girls and I enter my Domain. I see them gathering around the table and Luna jumps at me.
"Alpha!" She says excitedly as she knocks me down.
"Perfect timing! We just finished dinner." Asami says while setting down another tray of food. It's now I realized she bought new trays for the food. I thank god I meet Asami or else my life would be so much harder. I get up and join the girls at the table. There's Asami, Luna, Innu, Ramia, and Liz. Eimbis is next to the table eating some steak from a pet bowl, that Asami bought shortly after I got him.
"So Eric, how was your day?" Liz asks, unable to hide her worry and curiosity. I sigh and tell them about Ayashi while we eat. I decide not to tell them that the tree, and the person I talked to, are the Primal Source or what that means. This is because I don't know what to do with that after I deal with Ayashi. If I end up having to kill her, I don't want them to have to hide the source from their friends in the guilds. So until I decide what to do with it I refrain from telling them. Instead, I told them that the tree is a being of magic and that the water could awaken powers in Mythos by evolving them into true Mythos. Fortunately, Asami either trusts me, in that I have a good reason for lying, or her Stigma didn't let her know of it since it's not technically wrong. Prisma is a magical being and the water would evolve me. "So, you're going up against someone much tougher than a God?" Liz asks me in utter shock.
"Pretty much. But for now, I'm good. I have at least a month, or until the Demon God is slain. But even then, she won't just attack me right then and there. She doesn't know I'm going to try and stop her." I answer and Luna raises her hand.
"How does your Soul-Skill thing work?" She says and I describe how it worked when I used it earlier.
"Could you use it now?" Liz asks me.
"Sure, any reason?" I reply as Luna stands up.
"Not really, I just want to see it." Liz answers, slightly embarrassed.
"Can you use it on me? I trained with Innu earlier and used up a lot of mana." Luna says from my side. I nod and take her hand. I check my mana and see I still have 176 extra from Ayashi. I decide to give her 500, but end up going over by 7.
"It really did become hers." Liz says in awe.
"Is it really that important that it's hers?" I ask and Liz nods.
"All mana leaves behind a sort of fingerprint. We Sensors can see this and Identify who cast the spell. The print stays for a few days, but it also helps in spellcasting. If you try to cast a spell with someone else's mana then the spell would suffer and become weaker. So by making it yours means you can cast indefinitely if you have people to take from." She answers and I nod. Her answer gives me an idea as well. Gaia needs her mana in order to recreate her body. So could I give her mana? I don't know if my skills work in her soul. I could use my mana and spells while breaking the seals but that was my soul. I'll have to ask her, I could tomorrow during math class. I think and smile. "You know how creepy you look right now?" Liz asks me before chuckling. I get up and go to my Blacksmith's Workshop.
