It only took a split second for the big one, Uzume, to realize I was a threat, and make an attack against me. She heaved her weapon into the air and brought it down towards me. I floated backwards, trying to avoid the massive spiked club she swung towards my face, but I was slow. I had barely moved a foot back when her club passed through my chest. Fortunately, it didn't kill me, but it also hurt like the hells.

I tried to speak, to explain myself, to get them to not attack me, or even to cry out in pain, but I guess you need an actual body to speak.

I did my best to dodge away from her next 2 attacks, but the second one hit me and sent a rush of dull pain crashing through my incorporeal body.

I grit my non-existent teeth and pushed myself upwards, out of the big one's range. But I had forgotten about the other demon who was accusing me of being a demon. I was hit by a bolt of inky black lightning, arcing from the other demon's fingertips. It felt like my entire body was being forcefully pulled back together. Some kind of anti-magic, it seems.

I fell to the ground, and a few moments later I was my regular, completely tangible self. I immediately rolled to the left, barely avoiding taking a spiked club to the face. I lept to my feet and unleashed a cone of purple fire from my outstretched hand. When the fire faded away, I saw the demon grimace in pain, burn marks covering every bit of her not protected with armor.

"Huh, you aren't fireproof, are you?"

She roared, barreling towards me like a bull. I cast Misty Step, appearing behind her, preparing to drop a Fireball right on her face. But I had again forgotten about the other demon girl. The one with the horns flicked her wrist in my direction, and that black lightning cracked around me. It was like being tased but from everywhere all at once. My knees gave out from under me, and I fell face down.

Come on boss, get up, you gotta move.

I groaned and pushed myself up to my feet. Almost in slow motion, I watched the hulking monster called Uzume march towards me, club in hand. I had just about resigned to whatever fate they decided on for me. But then I noticed something.

A line of glowing energy, like a crack in reality, had appeared in the center of the battle field. I pulsed, more cracks spreading out from it. Whatever it was felt powerful, and the magical aura it radiated felt overwhelming. Suddenly, it exploded, cracks of light stretching out in every direction. It became so bright it blinded me, and the **** of it almost knocked me off of my feet. When the light cleared, it revealed a humanoid figure standing there. When my eyes recovered from the light, I was able to discern the finer details of the new arrival. A curvy feminine figure, long black hair, short horns on her head, bright red skin, and leathery bat wings.

Samara had come for me.
