Chapter 143 by TheSpectator TheSpectator

Is there anything else?

I like Alexandra, but not enough to change course.

Perhaps this could have blossomed into something else; the relationship between you and Alexandra, but some unfortunate events make it challenging to forgive Alexandra completely. Even though she’s had a change of heart, you can’t follow up with the same amount of affection.

You rub the table's surface, your words being carefully put together. With Alexandra warming up to you, it might make things easier to escape. Or harder? However, with that said, you did put yourself in this current situation, and you weren’t exactly sure why you did what you did, but you pressed forward, nonetheless.

“I like you, Alexandra.” You start. “I think you’re all right beside some of the shit you give me. You didn’t deserve to get shot in the leg and left to bleed out.”

Alexandra smirks somewhat. “So, you’re saying you would have left me if Scarlet didn’t put one in the knee?”

You smirk somewhat, too, and nod. “Oh, yeah. Of course.”

She smiles with a little more genuineness and looks away. “Well, if you’re ever in a spot like mine, I’ll be sure not to abandon you completely. I don’t like being in debt, much less to a man, but you’re probably worth the trouble.”

“We’ll see about that,” you say, almost excited to hear those words coming out of her mouth, even if she might not know the extent of what she’s just said. “How about we get some sleep?”

“Sleep sounds nice. Feels like I’m using a lot more energy doing the things I’m doing.”

You try to look at her leg, but the table is in the way. “Oh, I’m sure you have your reasons.”

“Oh, you know I do.” Alexandra slowly gets out of her chair and balances for a moment. “Good night, Warren.”

“Good night, Alex. I’ll see you in the morning.”

Anything happen overnight?
