Chapter 122

For now, spin the bottle!
Who cheats this time?
The bottle suddenly stops it's renewed whirling after a flash of golden light, and white feathers; its newest target being none other than the soon-to-be Emissary: Gabriella.
"Hellooo Ruyanei!~" The high-pitched voice of Ariel rings out. "Man, that was a quick twenty-four hours. Hey, Monster, you've got a little something on your... entire left side of your body."
I rub at the pearly half of my face. "Yeah; thanks for that."
"Ooo... so, Truth or Dare?" Asks Ariel, floating above us lazily.
Cilla purses her scarred lips. "No. We're going through each other's abilities after that fiasco. The bottle was Monster's idea; and honestly, everyone's just been cheating anyway. Let's just go alphabetical after this. Ashes, Klyde, Monster."
"Ooo, I'm next! Yesss..." Says Ashes, pumping her fists in the air.
"I refuse to argue with a Tsundere." Says Klyde, snickering at his little inside Earth joke; one he still hadn't explained to me.
Cilla stares at him. "What does that even mean!?"
Interrupting our fluffy friend's furious frenzy to come, Gabriella pulls her papers from her pack; causing the former to instant move back to taking notes. "I am Gabriella Edna, I am nineteen years of age..."
"Wow, you're the youngest person here!" Says Ashes, bumping the Priestess on the shoulder. "And here I thought Zana would be the baby of the group."
I scratch my head, contemplating aloud. "Technically, I'm only a few weeks old... am I a todler?"
"This body is actually younger than that! I died so many times for Ihsrom's earth-soul tests..." Says Klyde; seemingly looking back fondly on those times. "Those were fun bodies. The Orc one, the Dwarf, being a bird... honestly, next time I die..."
"Anyway!" Interrupts Gabbie, wanting to avoid that train of thought. "I am six'three, weighing three-hundred forty pounds. My weight is much like Cilla's, in that my muscles and bones are more dense, rather than having had a few too many cakes. I am an Amazonian Half-Dwarf; a mixed race only possible through divine intervention... it is also why I am so short..."
Everyone holds in laughter, except for Sammy; who instead hugs Gabbie. "Sorry Tall-Friend. I wish you were taller too..."
"Aw. Thank you, Sammy." The "short" Amazonian says, patting the goopy girl on the head. "As I was saying. I have the Priest evolution, Neophyte. A Tier IV Class, and the pre-cursor to a true Emissary; which I assume you all know what that is by now. My combat capabilities are rather limited, being that I'm only just now learning how to properly use the power my Lord Brother grants me."
"Whaaat? You're a natural!" Says Ariel, finally landing on the solid ground next to his sister. "My sis can do it all! Healing minor cuts and bruises with an Utterance of Restore, to major bone breaking, organ rupturing, 'all-of-my-blood-is-falling-out' wounds with the Divine version of the classic Heal Incantation."
"Brother..." Whispers a blushing Gabbie.
Having not heard his kin, the Martyr God continues his praises. "And, because she's tapping directly into the power of yours truly, she has access to the good stuff! She can summon a fragment of my divine being into the mortal plain; Ariel's Arms, smiting baddies the punchy way! Ariel's Eyes, giving her omniscient sight in an area around her; perfect for finding hidden passages, seeing through illusions, and not getting assassinated. Ariel's Ears; hearing anything said by someone you can see, from any distance! Works even if they're using sign language... don't ask."
"And what was I hit with?" I ask, rubbing at the throbbing darker half of my body.
Ariel seems to suddenly deflate; odd for a God, even one so 'minor'. "Oh... yeah. Thank goodness you picked being part Dragon, right? Anything else would have been... poof; reduced to cinders."
Gabbie paws at the back of her head nervously. "That spell was Martyr's Wrath. A very long, and powerful Incantation that is meant to be used as a last resort for Priests of the Martyr line. A beam of pure, destructive light; akin to the power of the sun. It is very dangerous to use; a high cost, weakens me greatly, and it severs my connection my Lord Ariel for an entire day. I... panicked, in that last battle. I'm sorry, Monster."
"It's fine!" I insist; hoping to avoid making the Divine-Duo feel any worse."I'm alive, aren't I? Here, let's just move on. Ashes?
to Ashes.
