News and surprises.

After about 45 minutes, the girls all made it downstairs, all in a bit of a rush. They weren't really running late, both Max and Victoria's classes weren't till a bit later, and Rachel and Chloe didn't even attend anymore. Still, they wanted to make sure they weren't late so moved with haste.

Upon reaching downstairs, they were met by Joyce, who immediately called out to them. "If you're rushing to class, don't worry. It got canceled for today." All 4 girls turned, in stunned silence. Joyce then continued. "Apparently, Mr. Prescott made a huge fuss about his son being arrested. Sent word out to everyone he could that he was being targeted for what amounted to a ridiculous conspiracy. The police chief had to be told about what happened."

Victoria went pale. "So... what happened?"

Joyce sighed and continued. "Well, Warren was alerted to what happened, and he's pissed. At first, he blamed David for not stopping it, but thankfully he changed his tune fast when he learned David was the one to help get the arrest made. But, Warren wants a full investigation done, he's worried there are others involved with this plot as well. The chief agreed. So, school is suspended until the police conclude at least there aren't any more major players."

All 4 sighed. Rachel didn't think it likely there were others involved as well, and Victoria hadn't seen anyone else, but all 4 were just glad that this was being taken seriously. If the cat was out of the bag, at least it wasn't gonna scratch them all up in the meantime. There was still some worry about how all this would play out but... well that was for another time. At that moment, all of them were still a bit exhausted, and honestly, hungry. Thankfully, it seemed Joyce had readied food for the 4 of them.

Everyone sat down for lunch, eating in relative silence. As they ate, there was small talk. Mostly catching Rachel up on the happenings at school. She was hoping to reenroll, though no one was quite sure how that would work. As they were all eating, they noticed Joyce was a bit... distracted.

Chloe was the one to finally spoke up about it. "What's up?"

Joyce let out a frustrated sigh. "It's nothing hon."

Chloe now knew there was something deeply wrong. "Mom..."

Joyce simply decided to let the bandage be ripped off. "I heard you four last night."

The immediate reaction was similar, yet different. Max for her part tucked into a ball in her chair, burying her face deep in her knees. Victoria followed similarly, although she just used her palms to do so. Rachel was just red-faced, being a lot more comfortable with sex, but still embarrassed about her girlfriends. Chloe however, looked away from her mom, trying to hide her face.

"Mom I-"

Joyce cut her off quickly. "I don't care what you do, you're all adults, you can do what you want. All I ask is if you try to keep it down next time."

All four girls quickly nodded. It was still embarrassing as all hell being caught red-handed like that, but at least they weren't getting chewed out for it.

Suddenly, Max realized something. "David didn't... say anything, right?"

Joyce chuckled at that. "You girls are in luck. He was busy being yelled at by Warren and explaining himself while you were all busy."

All four breathed a sigh of relief. David was far less forgiving than Joyce. With that out of them, they all finished up their meal and decided to head out for the day.
