You followed behind at a slower pace but you knew you were never going to catch up with Sarah given how fast she had run off, finding her already standing at your desk waiting for you when you reached your bedroom door.

“Wait, you spoke to Lucy about this?” Sarah asked, interrupting you before you got to even properly start.

“Yeah. I needed some advice and she needed something to do while I gave her the punishment. Sarah didn’t seem to have any more comments after that so you finally got to the topic at hand.

“So, the conversation started with if you wanted to go into further education or if you just wanted a job right out the gate. I mentioned that me and Emma were moving in together and you joining us so that narrowed it down to just courses that the same college offered. We saw a few others that we can go through if you don’t like this one but… this was the one both me and Lucy thought would be a good fit” you explained, finally clicking to the relevant tab to show her the ‘Journalism’ section.

“You seem to be doing well in English lit and we both know you’ve been enjoying cheerleading ever since you joined so we thought you could maybe go down the route of Sports journalism. We could both imagine you in the role and if you found out later down the road that you wanted to go more towards the sports side of things to take it further than an after school club then you probably could or if you wanted to focus more on the writing then you could choose a subject other than sports to carry on with the writing. Obviously this is just a suggestion but… “ you continued, getting stopped when Sarah suddenly grabbed both sides of your head and pulled you in for a kiss, briefly stunning you at how tightly she was holding you in her embrace.

“I love the idea!” she happily announced, turning her head back to your screen to read through what had been written.

You let her read a bit more on her own before flicking back and forth between the other tabs when she had finished a certain section, moving to the next which gave either a different point of view or some additional information about the career itself that couldn’t be found from just the description of the college course.

“I think you should be fine to meet the grade requirements for the course but if you feel a bit nervous we can also do a study session or two before the exams next week” you offered, letting her know you would do whatever you could to help her pass.

Both you and Emma were already on your second intelligence upgrade while Sarah was still on her first. You still felt like you had plenty of points to spare so giving Sarah her second upgrade to help give that little extra boost during her exams was the least you could do. You’d have to do it once Sarah was asleep to prevent the additional pain but you made a mental reminder for yourself to do it before you went to sleep tonight.

By the time you were done considering your sister’s next upgrade, she had finished reading through all the information you had previously found and her legs were waving as they hung off the chair to the side of you, as if they were a visual indicator to show her current happiness.

“I never would have considered journalism if I was being honest but now that you have suggested it, it feels like it’s the perfect job for me” she happily announced.

Her wording made you worry slightly that the KDK’s influence over her was making a bigger impact on her decision making than you had thought but given how happy she looked, your worries didn’t stick around that long.

Her expression seemed to change slightly after she looked back from your screen and looked in your direction, as if there was a fire in her eyes that had been lit.
