Chapter 3 by splotch splotch

How shall the battle start?

At the Museum

The famous Cat's eye gem was being exhibited in America at the Midtown museum. It was a huge one of a kind ruby, worth an estimated 20 million dollars. So naturally the museum increased security, certain they could keep away would be thieves. That's what they thought at least.

Catwoman, or Selina Kyle somersaulted onto the roof of the museum. There was no way she could pass up a score like this! Also it was out of Gotham, so Batman would likely never know she had anything to do with it. Grinning she strut over to the skylight of the Midtown Museum. She looked down and saw the Cat's eye gem gleaming in a protective case in the room below. Grinning at the jewel's luster she extended her retractable claws, stuck them into the glass and rotated her hand, cutting a perfect circle of glass she gently set aside. Then she reached through the skylight, disabled the alarm by cutting the chord with her claws, and undid the latch to the skylight. She swung it open, securing her whip to a roof vent and beginning to repel down into the museum. This was almost too easy, she thought with a smile.

Meanwhile Felicia Hardy, aka The Black Cat had simply come during the day in civilian clothing, then hid away in a supply closet until night, emerging in her costume.. She crept forward, seeing a door with light streaming out of it. She peaked in and saw a guard watching security cameras. Felicia grinned. Her power was to cause bad luck to those around her. This guard was near enough it would hit him soon.

Sure enough, suddenly the guard burst to his feet, holding his stomach.

"Oh god, why did I have that burrito?" He groaned as his stomach gurgled. He lurched out of the office and ran towards the bathroom, unaware Felicia was hiding in the shadows as he passed. Felicia smiled, and pranced forward into the main display area of the museum. She saw the jewel: but she also saw the laser field protecting it. If she crossed one of those beams of light alarms would be blaring and security doors would latch down. Well, she wasn't some amature, she could easily avoid them. She began sleekly and acrobatically began passing through the laser field, jumping over some, crawling under others. What she didn't know was another cat themed thief was directly above her. Both women approached the gem at the same speed, their paths about to intercept...
