Chapter 22 by Jones.Jennifer Jones.Jennifer

What happens upon Earnest's return?

A nice dinner, and some not-so-nice revelations

It was a joyous occasion, as Alesia and Rosalind welcomed Earnest back to Lindow from a rather successful excursion in the capital. The three of them enjoyed a meal brought from the local tavern (Rosalind didn’t want Earnest to find out about her little nighttime adventures), and Earnest regaled them with tales of the tournaments, the grueling practice, the rush of winning and the crushing defeat in the semis. He was also able to hand Rosalind a letter certifying her leave of absence to recover in the town of Lindow, along with his own reassignment to Lindow, thus allowing the two to stay together for as long as needed for Rosalind to return to “normal.”

Rosalind, for her part, was slightly melancholy hearing about Earnest’s time representing his squad, but felt better after being reassured by Earnest that he would lobby for her to be re-assigned to the 7th squad. The idea of serving the kingdom together, being around Earnest 24/7 got Rosalind more excited than she’d care to admit, playing perfectly into the romantic fantasies both she and Earnest shared. But perhaps she should act upon them while she still could… waiting for too long could be dangerous, especially with a girl like Alesia, whose intelligence and attractiveness Rosalind had witnessed herself over these last two weeks, despite the awkwardness…maybe it was prudent to visit Earnest tonight, and figure things out. See where the night takes her.

Alesia, on the other hand, was excited for similarly impure reasons. If what Morgan had told her was correct… then he should start feeling his single-minded attraction to Rosalind waning, slowly being replaced with an attraction and desire to be submissive towards Alesia… Alesia could hardly stop herself from trying to discreetly touch herself under the table while they shared their meal. She was so glad that Morgan taught her the long-range possession spell- now she would no longer have to masturbate, sad and alone, constantly lusting after unattainable hunks like Earnest. Now, she could become Earnest, essentially turn him into her sex ****, with him being none the wiser. While she still had reservations about doing such a morally dubious act- the simple fact of the matter was that she was just in too deep to back out now.

And parallel to the proxy war over Earnest that was happening between Rosalind and Alesia was a similar conflict regarding Earnest’s own feelings for Alesia and Rosalind. With the seed of attraction “planted” into his mind by Alesia’s possession, his mind naturally tried to find justifications as to why “he” began furiously masturbating to Alesia during his trip- and it latched on to anything it could. He was now suddenly far more aware of just how cute she was- while Rosalind was indeed both cute and sexy, there was something about Alesia, both her appearance and her awkwardness, that made Earnest wish to protect her at the same time he wanted to be dominated by her. The apparent altruism of her actions for Rosalind’s liberation also took residence in his mind, echoing around as he became more and more impressed by the fact that this meek, pacifist potion girl would brave the danger of going up against a practitioner of dark magic simply to help a stranger who she had just met…

This is how the three of them finished their meal, hearts and minds pointed towards one direction or another, or none at all.

Immediately after the meal, Rosalind set about her plan- and her first step was to make sure that Alesia, bless her soul, didn’t interfere with her late night visit to Earnest. Thankfully for Rosalind, this was one of “those” nights, as Alesia informed Rosalind that she would prefer not to be disturbed tonight. And with that, Rosalind steeled her courage a few hours later, and went to Earnest’s room… only to have her heart broken, confused, and for a new problem to arise.

She was initially intending on knocking on the door before entering, but the rhythmic sound of flesh behind the door gave her pause, and she instead opted to put her ear to the door, to listen in. Purely for friendly reasons, of course… Rosalind wasn’t the kind of pervert who would jerk it while eavesdropping on her childhood crush masturbating in his room, right? What broke her heart, however, and made her stop from her own very coincidental, completely unrelated masturbation session outside of Earnest’s door was what she heard from Earnest through the door.

“Alesia… Alesia…Alesia! Ahhhh, please, fuck me, turn me into your sex ****, I’m your free-use slut, I’ll…”

Rosalind experienced a rather painful emotional whiplash, as her lust for Earnest was instantly replaced with a sense of heartbreak as Rosalind realized that somehow, she wasn’t the target of Earnest’s affections anymore. Alesia was. She wanted to cry, to retreat to her room and collapse into her bed… but she decided to stay for a bit more- hoping that maybe Earnest would say her name with the same amount of desire. Instead, what she got was far more alarming. She heard him cum, and her heart was initially even more shattered due to the fact that he didn’t mention Rosalind’s name at all… but what he said afterwards nearly gave her a heart attack.

“Hee hee…” That definitely wasn’t something Earnest would say… “I’m so glad that this hot piece of ass is allllll property of Alesia, and Alesia only… nobody else’s… Hee hee…”

Everything about this was weird. “Hee hee?” Earnest was a proud knight of the 7th squad, not some dithering, lovestruck housewife (despite Rosalind’s most recent fantasies)... and alongside that, Earnest was never one to refer to himself as a “hot piece of ass,” as long as Rosalind knew him, she never heard him refer to himself in that narcissistic manner. Instead, that sounded a lot more like something that-

Oh god. Oh no. Rosalind could swear she heard her own heart skip a few beats as the apparent reality of the situation hit her. She had to regroup, retreat and figure things out. And so, no longer quite as heartbroken as before, Rosalind retreated to her room.

So, if Rosalind’s hunch from that eavesdropping session was right, and not just the product of a mind that couldn’t accept losing Earnest to another woman… then Alesia was possessing him? And using it to turn him into her submissive sex ****? How enviable! Er, wait. How detestable! Surely, such an **** of dark magic and Earnest’s trust couldn’t go unpunished! Rosalind felt fury at the thought of her Earnest being snatched away from her to begin with, and now that it appeared as if there was some “foul play” involved, Rosalind was absolutely livid. She had half a mind to walk over to Alesia’s bedroom right now and neutralize the cute potion-maker on this night.

But wait. Rosalind took a deep breath, in, and then out. As angry as she was at Alesia, she had to consider the rest of her options. This wasn’t the same possession spell that the misfit boys had used against her- there was no way for Alesia to headbutt Earnest in the short time Earnest had been here. So that meant that she somehow was able to possess Earnest without physical contact… along with any other possible different side-effects this spell would have. At the very least, she had to wait until she was sure that Alesia was “out” of his body, but to be really safe, she had to figure out exactly how Alesia was possessing him, and somehow counter that. If she acted too rashly, she could hurt not only Alesia, but Earnest as well… and she wasn’t particularly keen on hurting Alesia too much either. Despite the burning rage that she felt at Alesia’s actions, she still very much cared for her- Alesia was like the sister that Rosalind never had, in some ways, and the support she received from her during her less-than-stellar moments while drinking was certainly not something that someone who hated her outright would provide.

However, at the same time that Rosalind knew that she shouldn’t make a rash decision, she also knew that taking too long was also quite dangerous. She didn’t really know what the spell actually did, but if it did make the host justify the actions that their invader took, then Earnest’s mind could be irreversibly changed if she waited too long. And if Alesia was indeed able to possess Earnest over long distances, then… shit. She was probably possessing him during those two weeks up in the capital, and corrupting his mind then as well. With that in mind, it might be best for Rosalind to rush Alesia after all, and heal whatever Earnest’s damage may be afterwards.

This was going to be incredibly difficult. Rosalind seemed to have even less options, less time, and less information than Earnest did when liberating her. Should she wait? Should she try to intercept her right now? Rosalind agonized over these decisions, before deciding on…

What's Rosalind's next move?
