Heracross

You pick up the ball that says Heracross and say, "I choose Heracross!"

"Ah, it's something picked up from the Johto region," Professor Oak says.

Out the corner of you eye, you catch Oak checking out your ass lecherously.

"You do remember I'm a boy, right?" you remind him.

"I'll take this one, then!" Tracey says, picking up a Pokeball containing a Bulbasaur. "Bulbasaur'll earn me the Pewter, Cerulean and Vermillion Gym badges easy."

"It's a good choice for a starter in this region." the professor says.

Oak holds out two strange devices to the two of you.

"You'll need these to identify Pokemon. It's a Pokedex. It's basically a databank for all the Pokemon of all known Pokemon. I'll also give you these." he hands you and Tracey 10 Pokeballs each. "Pokeballs can be pretty expensive out there. Good luck to both of you."

You put the items in your bag and start to walk out of the room when Tracey calls out to you.

"Wait up, Illya," Tracey says with a devilish look on her face. "Let's have a battle right now!"

"What's in it for me if I win?" you say.

"Loser has to comply with whatever the winner wants to do with them."

"You're on." you say with confidence.

With that, you both go outside for your first Pokemon battle. Tracey is standing opposite of you with thirty feet of distance between the two of you.

You both square up to begin your fight.

"Bulbasaur!" Tracey throws her poke ball, releasing Bulbasaur.

"Go, Heracross!" you say as you calmly release Heracross from your Pokeball without throwing it. You don't know why people throw their Pokeballs to release their Pokemon. They will have to pick it up again afterwards.

Face to face, both Pokemon glare up at each other, their eyes locked on. Tracey might have picked Bulbasaur because of it's type advantage over the Pokemon of the first three gyms the two of you would be running into but your Charmander has a type advantage over it. Either she doesn't know enough about type advantages or she was thinking long term and felt an advantage over gym leaders was more important.

"Alright, Ralts, time to show us what you're made of!" you say.

"Bulbasaur, give that Heracrossa spanking!" Tracey yells as Bulbasaur runs at Heracross.

"Heracross, dodge!" you say but Bulbasaur hits Heracross. "Heracross, use Tackle!" you yell.

Heracross uses tackle. It's a critical hit!

Bulbasaur uses tackle.

"Tackle!" you order.

Heracross again uses tackle on Bulbasaur.

Bulbasaur uses tackle again but Heracross dodges it. It seems that the whole fight is just the two Pokemon tackling each other.

"Tackle!" Tracey shouts.

Bulbasaur tries to tackle your Heracross but misses.

"Tackle!" you shouted.

Heracross tackles Bulbasaur.

Bulbasaur uses tackle and manages to hit Heracross this time.
