Chapter 121 by Jpyric Jpyric

A pleasant way to spend a weekend!

Reality check

It’s amazing how even the most incredible things can become routine. It’s been less than a year since you were a depressed, lonely bachelor, wallowing in the misery of a failed relationship. And now, you’re the happiest you’ve ever been, living with three beautiful, exotic women from another dimension, and a wild human girl. And none of that seems absurd to you anymore. Not to mention building an extension on your house to add yet another beautiful monster girl to your strange family!

All of you are sitting around the dinner table, enjoying yet another wonderful meal, served up by Mazzy and Ellie. The extension should be finished tomorrow, and with any luck you should be able to bring Sirona home the next day, once you move a bed and dresser in at least. Everyone is talking excitedly about having her join you, and making plans to welcome the shy manticore into the group.

However, as much as you’ve put your troubles in the past, they won’t be so easily forgotten. The pleasant evening is interrupted as you hear the sound of shattering glass from the living room. You leap to your feet, startled, but Kenna is faster. Pushing you behind her, the muscular dragon girl practically growls as she quickly strides into the other room, fists clenched. You follow closely behind, though Kenna stays protectively in front of you.

There’s nothing in the living room but broken glass, however. Someone has thrown a rock through the window. You glance outside, but you don’t see anyone, whoever it was must’ve run away after throwing it. You sigh, looking at the mess of the living room.

“Looks like we’ll have to get the contractors to fix a window too.”

Dakota picks up the rock from the floor. “Hey, there’s a note attached to this!”

She pulls it off the rock and reads it. Rolling her eyes, she hands it to you. “Not telling us anything we didn’t know.”

You take the note from her, looking at the scrawled handwriting. It’s just three words, and you read it aloud. “Perverted monster fucker.”

Despite herself, Mazzy giggles. “Well, they’re not wrong…”

You chuckle. “Fair enough. I am a pervert, and I do fuck monsters.”

Kenna shakes her head. “Next time, can they just tell you? This glass is a mess.”

Ellie peeks in from the dining room. “I-is it safe? What’s h-happening?”

You walk over and gently pat her head. “It’s fine. Just someone trying to harass us for being different. It’s always unfortunately been pretty common, even before the portal opened.”

Dakota nods. “I wouldn’t be surprised to see some graffiti on the house. But as long as it doesn’t escalate, I think we’re fine. Most of the neighbors like us now, we should ask if they saw anything.”

You look around at the girls, happy to see that they’re more annoyed than scared. “I’ll talk to the people at the AWIO tomorrow as well, they should know about this.”

As you talk, you begin cleaning up. Everyone pitches in, and in no time it’s all done. You find some cardboard to put up in the broken window for now, thankful that it’s still late summer, and the weather is nice. When you’re finished, everyone moves back to the dinner table.

It’s Mazzy who voices the biggest issue.

“They couldn’t have waited till after dinner? Now our food is cold!”
