Head back to the castle.

Things have been going quite well all things considered, though the queen is still cursed to sleep in your care, and the so-called Hero King Thadius still sits on the throne of Tivera with a mysterious vendetta against you. Elok Daven lurks wherever it is that the underground tunnel leads, doing whatever it is that he's doing, while William has been far west, being just as mysterious. Lady Vex resides quite far away, so hearing nothing is logical, though one can never be certain of a Demon King's intentions, even after going through so much together. For now, you rest up in the Pecho Peaks, wondering what should be done next.

Later in the afternoon, you sit in the War Room next to Lynx, with a stack of books on the table.

She points to one of the pages excitedly. "So this is Goku, right?" she asks.

"That's right."

"I'd never forget that. What's he saying though?"

It's written in English. "Oh. This is when he goes super saiyan for the first time. That bubble says, uh... I'm a saiyan, sent from Earth to defeat you. The legendary warrior, with a pure heart awakened by rage."

"That's so cool!" she says, slamming the volume back down. Looking at her hand, which is currently uncovered, she slides a finger around the sensitive spot where her symbol was drawn. "I wish I could transform or something like that."

"You can already create energy shields and fire beams. That's more than anyone on actual Earth could say."

"Damn. Goku has a bigger chest than Dajy."

After a pause of staring at one another, the two of you begin to laugh.

"I thought Eva's were bigger," you say.

"What about Niki? Though she's always hiding them. Also, I think Eva's are bigger proportionally to her body, but Dajy is taller, so of course it would be different. It's hard to say. We'd have to see them like, squished together or something."

"Niki's are big too, but--Wait why are we talking about this now?"

Though, the two of you turn as a plume of smoke appears near the door, of course masking the entrance of your devil maid. Yin approaches the table with a fancy envelope in her hand, which she extends towards you with a polite bow of her head. "This is for you, Master," she says while you take it. The paper is tan, and trimmed with a thin golden pattern. It's been sealed by a wax stamp with the initials ED.

"Thanks, Yin," you say. Then you turn to Lynx once more. "Do you have a knife handy?"

"You don't even need to ask!" she answers proudly before whipping out a tiny blade with an intimidating speed. You hold it out, and she slices straight through the seal to pop it open nice and neat.

You get the sense that Yin is hesitant to leave, but her duties proceed her. She gives a nod and says, "Call if you need me for anything else."

As she turns to leave, you speak up with a smirk. "All right. Well, what if I want you to stay and read the letter with--"

Before you can even finish the sentence, she's already pulling up a chair beside you. "Of course, Master," she says in an attempt to sound formal over her obvious excitement. "If that's what you wish, I will stay here with you."

Her feelings of desire are quickly replaced by satisfaction, and she watches you intently with a smile on her face.

ED. Yeah, I know. Of course. I don't want to show it, but I'm pretty nervous opening this thing up if it's really from Elok Daven. Not that he scares me, but of course I'd be uneasy. I have no idea what he's up to, nor what he's capable of accomplishing. Slowly, you slide the actual letter from the decorated envelope and begin to read out loud for the benefit of the two girls around you. Though before your eyes move to the words below, first they catch what looks like a drawing of a carnival.

"What's it say?" Lynx asks impatiently as she leans over your shoulder. Her soft hair tickles your cheek.

"Relax. I'm about to read--"

"I'm curious too, Master," Yin adds, leaning over your other. You can feel the radiating warmth of her skin against you.

You take a deep breath and finally continue. "It's an invitation. Not to a party, but something he's calling a Sports Festival. Southeast of Tolis, out in the plains, a huge fair is going to be opened for all to see, though it looks like I'd be a special guest. I doubt I'm the only one who got one of these too. What is he up to?"

"Who?" asks Lynx.

"Elok Daven. Right here, he's signed his name on the bottom. Apparently it's already set to open in a week. It'll have food, games, and also a massive competition of strength and skill, hence the sports part. Not only that, but the king himself will be attending."

"That sounds amazing," Yin says. "But what does this mean for us?"

"It's bait." You continue to stare the letter over for a moment longer before leaning back in your chair with a creak. Then you take a deep breath. "There's no doubt about it. This can't be anything but a scheme. Of course the king would be there, and he knows I'd want to speak with him."

"Do you think he wants to capture you?""

"No. I doubt it. If this is a massive carnival of some sort, there'd be no way any individual person could be in danger. Too many people. Not only that, but there's no limit on who I can bring. There's no way we could be touched, especially if everyone came."

"Ah I see. So the bet thing to do is bring all our allies, right?"

"Wrong," Lynx butts in, though you were about to say the same. "Because we don't know his endgame. That could be his plan, right? Lure us out of Castle Phoenix."

"But an army charging this way would still be seen. It's not like he could take over Castle Phoenix with a couple people, because we could just get it back when we got home," you add. "That being said, you're still right. Yin? I need you to gather some people for me."
