Chapter 15 by WaspWoman WaspWoman

What do they find at the rehearsal space?

Possible Evidence

"I heard what happened." Spider-Man said, landing outside the taped off police zone, "I'd like to help, can I take a look?"

"Sorry, you know the rules." Said the officer standing guard, "I can't let you into an active crime scene, not while our guys are still taking a look. Come back tomorrow and you might have some luck."

"I can't wait that long!" Spider-Man exclaimed. The officer eyed him suspiciously, "Sorry, I'll come back later."

Spider-Man swung away, climbing onto the roof of a neighbouring building.

"I take it, it didn't go well." Cat stated, relaxing on a chair, "Still want to get in?"

"Of course." Spider-Man replied, a little defeated, "Just...be discreet."

"I always am." Cat said, pretending to be offended, "Come on."

Cat ran towards the edge of the building and jumped off, landing on top of the rehearsal studio. There, she attached her grappling hook to the edge of the roof and lowered herself down to the broken window, which had police tape covering it in an 'X' shape. Cat shook her head and moved onto the next window, which was still intact, and carefully pried it open. She turned around and gestured for Spider-Man to follow, before she slid herself through the window. Spider-Man followed soon after, and they both clung to the wall space on either sides of the, now open, window.

Clearly most of the investigation had already taken place, because there were only two police officers, milling around the entrance and talking. Spider-Man looked at Cat and held a finger up in front of his mouth, before carefully climbing down to the ground. Cat just rolled her eyes before following - of course the hero would tell the master thief to remain silent. The two spread out and started looking around the room. Spider-Man was clearly trying to solve the order of events, his movements tracking where the kidnapper likely was. Cat, on the other hand, had a quick look around and walked over to the gas grenade, pretending to examine it, as if she didn't already know what had happened.

After a brief moment of 'examining' the grenade she stood up and gestured for Spider-Man to follow as she made her way back up the wall, towards the open window. Spider-Man briefly frowned. She must have found something important. He took one last look around the room before leaping after her. They both climbed out the window, and Cat closed and locked it behind them, before they both made their way back to the neighbouring rooftop.

"See?" Cat said, strutting across the rooftop, "That's how it's done."

"Yes, well done." Spider-Man sarcastically congratulated, "What did you find?"

"Simple. I know who did this." Cat stated, turning around to face him.

Who does she say did it?
