Chapter 945 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Visit the queen.

Time passes onward and dinner time fast approaches, though you do have something you wish to do before joining the others in the Great Hall, and that's to visit the poor cursed Queen Catherine the II who currently resides within your local house of healing. It's quite fortunate that it's hardly needed use, and even when you've needed rest, it's never been so bad as to require medical attention. But now you step foot into the quaint, clean building filled with half a dozen beds as well as counters and cabinets of herbs and other supplies one would expect to find in a small, fantastical hospital. Peony is following you. While others have gone off to their own business, it seems the dryad is more than eager to take advantage of your new suit of armour.

Illuminated by a magic lamp, Catherine lies tucked into her bed. There's another figure inside as well, however, and you nearly miss her at first. Cat, the high vampire, looms in the dark corner garbed in a manner you haven't seen in quite some time. Her pale skin starkly contrasts against her long black hair--a sheen of crimson--and a sexy dress as dark as midnight with a high collar and low cut over her cleavage. It ends hardly past her waist, looking more like a fancy coat, and leaving her in naught but panties, and leggings leading to knee-high boots. Long gloves cover her arms from elbow to fingertips, and there's a choker around her neck which holds a beautiful ruby gem. Though, she's not presently wearing any of her other jewellery, and laying on the bed nearby is a fancy, wide, black hat she's not currently wearing either.

A gaze of crimson watches the two of you enter, and as she opens her mouth, her long fangs almost seem to glow by the nearby source of light shining of things so purely white and razor sharp.

Peony looks around in awe, though not at all to the vampiress. Her bare feet--skin like soft flower petals yet appearing as solid leaves or grass--pat long the stone tiled floor. "Ooh. It was always really difficult for me to go anywhere inside, Kyle. It feels so weird. The ground is hard." After a moment of quiet, she comes in closer and takes you gently by the arm. "I can sense you, but without a view of trees and flowers around me, I'm a little uncomfortable."

"It's all right, Peony. As long as you're anywhere near me, you can be wherever you'd like," you reply.

"How cute," Cat speaks up in a dry tone as she steps forwards. But after a long pause and clearly heavy thoughts in her mind, she speaks again in a less snarky manner. "You truly did it, Kyle. My descendent, alive and free. It's strange, to look down at her like this. I used to dream of perhaps ruling Tivera or something of the like, even if it meant the **** of the queen, yet now that I have her helpless before me, I don't know what to think."

"Though I don't really know how to lift this curse yet," you say.

"The elf... Ms. Tedrilui. Amara. She was here not long ago, though her healing magic only left her looking exhausted. So it is a curse after all. Well, the good news is she's entirely fine as long as she's here."

The door turns open, and everyone shifts their attention to Vivi as she enters, garbed in her usual attire, pointed hat and all. She enters the house of healing and looks between the others in return.

Peony is the first to speak up. "Hi there, Vivi. How are you?" she asks.

"I'm doing well. Thank you." Vivi looks her over for a moment, and then you. "Interesting. That's the armour made from all those parts then, isn't it?"

"That's right," you reply. "Hey. What do you make of Catherine's condition? I figure maybe you'd have some knowledge on curses, with the whole witch thing, and uh... the fact that you seem to be a lot older than most others who live here."

"Excuse me? I'm not old. I'm experienced. And you're correct. That's why I'm here. I have a feeling the curse bestowed upon her isn't all that strong. Leave her with me, and I'll brew a cure or find something else that works, and I doubt it'll even take all that long."

"Really? That would be awesome, Vivi."

"I'll contribute what I can," says Cat. "I also possess many years of experience, especially in regards to dark practices."

A vampire and a witch. I'm glad we have Spirit Halloween here to help.

Peony tugs on your arm. "Are we going to enter the castle soon? I've always been so curious what it's like inside, but it's so big. Will you sit with me during dinner so I don't get scared?"

"Of course." You look to the others. "Coming to dinner too? We're heading off for now."

"I'd rather assess the situation a little bit first, but I'll come soon," Vivi replies.

Cat lifts up the hat and places it atop her head, granting her some coverage from the sliver of sunlight still present outside. "Not me. I need to think about some things, preferably beneath the moon." And with that, she's the first to depart, disappearing into the evening outdoors.
