Chapter 4 by whitemambaforever whitemambaforever

What does she find?

The Temple Complex

As Lisa pushed through the Forest, her eyes began to pick up on the light of a clearing up ahead. Based on the view of the small valley they would be searching that Lisa had gotten from atop the ridge they would be camping on, if there was a major find like the rumored temples in the area, they would have to be in this clearing. Excited by the potential, however unlikely, Lisa began to rush forward, eager to see what awaited her in the clearing.

As she burst forth into the light, it took Lisa's eyes a few moments to readjust to the light. However, when they did, her jaw hit the floor. The ruins of a small temple complex filled the clearing. The collapsed remains of priestly dwellings rose out of the ground, reduced to nothing more than piles of rocks that a less trained eye than Lisa's would merely ignore. The cobbled stones of a large square filled the center of the clearing, with a pedestal that might have once held up a statue in the middle of it.

At the back of the clearing, a majestic but small waterfall fell from the ridge above, where presumably the water source Lydia had ventured off towards sat. It filled a small lake before flowing underground. The natural wonder of this sight however was eclipsed by the sight Lisa found before her. A large temple, overtaken by trees, vines, and flowers, but otherwise intact rose from the ground. The architecture indicated it was at the very least Mycenean in origin, if not older. Hell, if Lisa's eyes did not decieve her, this might be the oldest piece of architecture in all of Greece.

Lisa's heart felt like it might explode. Her name would be in the history books for this. This was maybe the greatest find in the 21st century thus far. She ran forward through the clearing into the temple without a second thought, eager to see what she can find.

What does she find?
