In the dark night...

*shriek*

Noises inside his house made their way to Peter's slumbering ear. In his sleep, a slight disturbance stirred him from his slumber. A moment later, his eyelids squeezed, and his consciousness returned.

*thud*

*thud*

*BAM!*

This time, due to a sudden loud sound, his eyelids shot open. His body immediately jolted on the bed."Wh-wha-what?"

His speech slurred from being woken up in the night. Next, opening his blanked cover, he made a quick walk out of his room. It was in the middle of the night with the moon being covered by the cloud so It was dark.

All light was off inside Peter's house. The darkness was kind of scary where you felt that someone or something just lurk inside. Ready to pouch or jumpscare you. Peter, being familiar with his own home, made his way toward the room where Victoria resides first.

Checking if his best friend was fine. In his sleepy head, the first thing that come to mind was an intruder. Victoria might be in danger and in his unconsciousness, his first priority was to protect her. It was unknown if that feeling was born from the long time they were friends or some unknown feeling lurking inside Peter's heart.

Anyway, Peter made it to her door and opened it. It was the same darkness, he couldn't see anything inside. He turned the light switch on. Brightness immediately assaulted his eyes that already adapted to darkness.

Looking over where Victoria slept, he found it empty.

*tump*

This time, his brain quickly rebooted to his wide awake state. His heart shot to his throat. "Oh no."

"Victoria!." he turned around victoria's room and shouted. without waiting for her to answer. He bolted to his dark interior. He went to the light switch first.

Now, his house was completely lit in brightness. He could see better. He perked his ear to hear any sound. "Victoria!."

It was fortunate that his neighbor was a bit far away to not be disturbed by his shouting.
