"Mmh..."

Alis blinked awake, starting to sit up before noticing that Fendis was still hugging her tightly from behind. Not wanting to wake her, she slowly eased herself back down to the mat. She craned her neck to look around the clearing and ended up locking eyes with Rosa, sitting across from them fully dressed with one of her signature smirks.

"Sleep well?" she asked.

Alis blushed. "Fine, thank you. Where's Sigrid?"

"Went to piss," a voice spoke directly in her ear.

She yelped and threw herself forward out of bed, turning to see Fendis staring at her. "You were awake?!"

Fendis sat up and nodded, messy hair bobbing and blankets sliding down to reveal her bare chest. "Yes. Didn't want to disturb you," she said, answering Alis' unasked question.

"Aww, isn't that so sweet, Alis?" Rosa cooed. "You two make such a cute couple!"

She made a kissy-face at them, and Alis' face flared red. Even Fendis was looking a little bashful, if confused. Alis leapt to her feet, quickly walking away to hide her embarrassment. "I-I'm going to get dressed!"

She went and washed her face in the stream before pulling on her outer clothes. By the time she sat down to eat breakfast her blush had mostly faded, despite Rosa's continued needling. Sigrid came back at some point looking flushed and a bit sweaty, but Alis wrote that off as being due to the morning heat. Soon enough they were all ready to go, Fendis shouldering her rifle over her jerkin as the mage shut her spellbook with a clap.

"Alright, so I guess we'll just keep following the stream and hope to pick up their trail?" Rosa said. They all looked at each other and shrugged, none really knowing how this sort of quest was meant to work. Since Fendis was by far the most experienced tracker among them, it was decided that she would take the lead to start, and if they needed to split up further on Alis could try tracking the kobolds through their mana. Fortunately that was simple enough to do with her clothes still on, though the thought of having to use proper magic to fight them had her cheeks heating up again. At least kobolds probably wouldn't care if she was naked, right?
