Chapter 32
by
Johanna
Does the chat go smoothly?
Right until you are in trouble (even though you don't think you should be)
You quickly decide that you are not going to help matters by standing in front of Margaret's desk like a naked statue. You obviously only wrote the base rules and left plenty of room for additional features like these... Especially such well-targeted ones. Even though you do not think you have any special traits that would require anything similar, but that does not mean you do not start imagining the possibilities, even as you sit yourself down carefully and ask what you came here to ask.
Her nudity and restraints notwithstanding, Margaret remains highly informative when called upon just like the Rules intended her to be and she readily supplies the information about the specifics social network algorithms that you needed. She never looks entirely comfortable, but the worst of the stress seems to step back too when she is gets to talk about her field to a relative layperson such as yourself. Of course, the fact you are naked and obviously sore too might also have helped to put her at ease.
You ask her how is she holding up after the work-related questions have been exhausted and Margaret tells you she is holding herself together, but hopes things will get better soon, because it is not easy. You tell her you understand her (and you do, even though you are enjoying the situation too, at least to a degree!) and see her smile in response, practically for the first time since you entered... And then you see her smile freeze and her eyes shift.
"H-hello, Mr Hayley", she greets her boss, as a large shape emerges from behind you, a less than impeccable shirt and tie. You add your own polite "Hello" although it is not as meek as Margaret's. Sure, you are naked in front of a stranger, but that alone is not a reason to be terrified anymore. What he says next, however, might be.
"I would have thought my new addition would keep you from wasting work time", he growls in the way of greeting. "Apparently now you have friends coming to you for a chat instead. Over the desk, the both of you. Now."
Do you stand up against the unfairness?
