Rambling to buy some time

"Am i just gonna stand here and think of a decent starting question instead of grabbing something to drink?"

"This is not how you play the game! You have to ask about your character!" Pouted Lucy.

Nadia winked at her while standing up and heading to the fridge "Come on, I was just joking. It's already late and there is no excuse for why we are not getting intoxicated yet!"

"Are you sure you are not doing all of this to buy more time? I could have started, the first questions are always the easier ones" Asked Adam smirking, even if he was grateful for Nadia getting some **** for everyone.

"Oh, I'm sure! I already had the question, just raising the suspense" She got a pack of ice and two bottles of coke on the table, then went back to the kitchen counter to get the rum.

"Yes, we know you. Just gonna make us wait for a minute or two and then you are going to ask something stupid, am I right?"

Nadia said nothing and just winked at him. She went back to the table and slowly started pouring herself a drink in silence, watching everyone. She then slowly took a sip, made a loud appreciation noise and finally asked the question. "So, Am I Queen Victoria?"

Everyone groaned. They all knew Nadia was just making a scene to entertain them and to start the night. Adam rolled his eyes as he watched Catherine shake her and asking her question in return. "Am I a fictional character? See? wasn't that hard..."

"No, you are not a fictional character, Luke, you are up!" Said Lucy trying to get her game moving while taking a first swig of ****.

Luke was watching down at the table, deep in thought.

"Come on Luke, the first one is a general one to divide in half your pool."

"Yes, I know... I was just thinking if there was something else I could ask to get an advantage early." Luke was scratching his short beard, the water from dinner still in his glass.

"What, like are you seven feet tall and all muscle?" Asked Nadia sarcastically, knowing full well she just wasted the first question and wanting to trick him in a question that lead to nothing.

"Eh, eh... No, you are right, I should just ask a normal question. Am I a fictional character?" Asked Luke, looking down at his small frame. At five feet tall he had always been the smaller one of the group, even smaller than Lucy, fortunately he had always had his good family genes, that kept him lean and gave him a handsome face, but sometimes when the others made fun of him for his stature it hurt a bit.

"Fuck!" Whispered Nadia between her teeth. Not only the bluff did not work, it also lowered Luke's morale. She would make up for it later with some kind words.

"Yes, you are! Great Job Luke! It's my turn so I'm gonna ask, Am I human?" Lucy knew she got Adam's character, and he started the game asking what was acceptable, so if there were some strange characters in the pool it had to be on her forehead.

"No, you are not a human Lucy." Smirked Adam, proud that Lucy understood that starting direction. He didn't care about winning. "Ok, to finish the turn... Am I a woman?"
