Chapter 8 by ShadeWriter ShadeWriter

What type of day is it?

Normal but Hungry

Usagi checked the time and had a semi freak out. If she didn't hurry she'd be late for work! Now she wasn't fully stupid, she even made it a point to try and set her alarm each day, and even timed out the path to her job in case she over slept..., which she did. Often enough. But even then she might be late. She sprang out of bed and ran to the bathroom, hoping to get a fast shower before work.

"Usagi , what the matter?" Her cat familiar asked as she tried talk to the blonde but Serena just ran by, quickly toweling her hair from her shower as she tried to slip on her clothes.

"NO TIME! LATE! I gotta motor!" She replied, as she cracked open the fridge and grabbed a breakfast sandwich. She slapped it in the microwave and used the cooking time to finish dressing.

"Normally I would fault you for sleeping in but given last night it's understandable." Luna said, jumping up to the table, her town softening as she looked up and asked, "And Speaking of last night, should you go into work today? I think they would let you work from home today if you told them you were attacked by a dog." the cat asked as she drew closer to her human.

"It's fine! it's fine! See?" Usagi held her leg up and shook it before standing up and putting some pressure on it. She winced a bit but recovered just fine. "Okay okay still kinda hurts but I can walk and stand on it. I should be able to run to work but that's it for the day." Serena explained as the microwave dinged. She turned to finish putting her breakfast together.

"Well.... I don't like it. At the very least take a cab for part of the way and..." Tthe words died in Luna's throat as she tilted her head just a bit, trying to figure out what the blonde was doing. "Err..., Usagi? Just what are you... doing with that sandwich?"

"Eating it? Why?" Came the muffled voice of a mouth stuffed full of food. Usagi was never a clean eater and her table manners were non existent. The cat just put her paw to her own forehead muttering.

"Yes I see that. But what is that monstrousity you made?" the cat loudly asked, her tail fluffing up in annoyance.

"Hmm?" Usagi looked at her sandwich. It was just a sausage and egg sandwich, not the best kind for her but enough to get her going. What was wrong with... oh. She started to see the problem..., maybe. There were other bits of meat stuck in at the bottom and she eyed the the bag of jerky next to her. She wasn't even sure why she had it, a 'gift' from her brother or Mamoru from a month or so ago. It was still good and would be a waste to not use it.

"... what. I'm hungry." Usagi said with a shrug. She took another big bite and noticed the time on her clock. She hurridly shoved the food into her mouth and finished packing. "I GOTTA GO!!! WAAAAAAAAAH!" She cried as she took off running out the door.

"That girl never changes..." Luna muttered with a defeated sigh.

Usagi was right about her leg. It bothered her but it didn't stop her. She did check it over the course of the day to make sure she didn't open the wound again but it seemed to be healing just fine. That was one plus about being a Sailor Scout, the healing factor when it kicked in was a god send. When it kicked it; too bad it didn't work for colds.

The only thing that was really odd about her day was the hunger. Usagi was often munchy during her shift at the magazine. Well, she always was snacking to the point some of her co-worker teased about having a 'Usagi Moochi fund' set up. Even with her well known snack habits though, this was a bit beyond normal. The blodne easily tore through a number of cookie packets, and emptied out two more bags of jerky from the break room vending machine. When one of her coworkers entered with a big steaming to go burger, Usagi practically started to drool.

Usagi just waved it away, telling herself and her co workers that it was due to her needing the nutrients to heal. That was partially true; she knew from experience that she'd be hungry after healing from damage but this was a little worrying. Perhaps something was wrong.

"Or maybe I'm just in a mood to treat myself." She thought as she picked up the smell of some steak joint near her work as she left the office.

No something was wrong with her, she should get back home and talk to Luna. Her stomach growled in protest as she started to walk away. Maybe just one quick bite?

What does she do?
