Chapter 33 by Deus-ex353
Your response?
Don’t even give that bastard the satisfaction of a response
Don’t even give that bastard the satisfaction of a response, knowing knowing too well that he thrives off of other acting out. No, you will not be brought down by his childish antics and make no mistake you will be paying them back for every insult you throughout your dearest friend.
But until then, you let the Count has his fun (and head) as you moved on to the pressing matters at hand.
[congratulations, on Reaching what is essentially the gameplay loop of this story. Every day, you can call a with your counsellor and together you can change laws. Such as increasing or decreasing taxes or simply improving the livelihoods of the peasantry.
But remember you can not the king(yet) so you cannot make big sweeping reforms yet, like in forcing everyone to change religion or legalising ****.
Also, do you know the fact that you are merely the Lord in acting, you do not have total power over your counsellor and vassals and they can if they want block change from happening or simply not implemented. So you have to placate them a bit and make them like you, but a try to remember the present as well as while they don’t have a say on how they’re rule, Pulling down peasant revolts every three months is not very cost-effective on your manpower.
So remember to look out for these stats:
peasant opinion: 0 (they have absolutely no idea who you are and do not care)
nobility opinion: 15 (You are an upstart to them and while they do respect you enough to pay taxes they will not do anything more than that.)
Last but not least, dread mechanic. Even when people don’t like you if they fear you they will never stand up against you, lest they end up in impaled on Pikes. Now that doesn’t mean that they people will not try. But higher the dread the less likely they are to join coalition, however it’s also more likely to get assassinated. So be careful when using this mechanic as it does not leave a stable realm behind for your descendants.
Dread: 0 (you’re a good nice guy hasn’t done anything wrong yet)]
