The Park

"Well, what now?" Pete said.

"Uh, we go to Everglades Park, I guess," Tom said, and cast a glance at Jenna. She was still wearing those oversized clothes. The pants looked so loose, like they could be pulled off so easily.

"So how should we go? I'll check Google maps."

Danny fumbled with his new-found "toy". A Neuralyzer, they called it. It was small and cylindrical, with a circular glass at the top. But where was the button to activate it? He turned the thing around and upside down, and found a small nudge at the center which might be the -

FLASH

"Shit!"

Jenna blinked, her eyes empty and wide. Then she seemed to return to herself, finding her friends staring in shock at her. "What?" she said, and knew something was wrong.

She looked beneath, and saw a body she had never seen before. "Oh my god what the fuck!" She shrieked and fell backward, clutching her breasts through her shirt to check if they were real, if any of this was real, something, anything to stop herself from hyperventilating.

"Jenna, Jenna we can explain!" Danny rushed to her side. "You've been turned to a girl!"

They explained about the mysterious caller, and the Neuralyzer, and how it had cleared her memories, when suddenly Pete said, "do you guys feel that?"

In an instant they found themselves in a small clearing, surrounded by trees. A distance away a few hikers paced along the main path, hard to spot amongst the trees unless they really tried. But sounds echoed through the forest, and they could hear their distant murmurs.

"What the - " Danny said. Pete fell on his ass, crunching the orange and yellow leaves beneath him. The autumn air was a little cold, the trees almost felt cozy.

"Damn. So this is the park."

It took a minute for them to get their bearings. "The park?" Jenna said, still finding it too much to take in. She could only remember going to sleep last night after drinking with the boys, then waking up as a girl, in the living room, then being teleported to the middle of nowhere. And what was that about the tasks they said? "So this is where I have to do a task?"

"Y...yeah..." Danny replied.

"And what is it?" She said, trying to hold up her pants from falling.

Danny tried to answer but couldn't. He looked to Pete and Tom. Pete stayed silent. Tom finally said, "you kind of have to... like... go naked? Not long, like, just a few minutes here."

Jenna laughed but it was more of a plead that he wasn't serious. But he was, and it was obvious. She still couldn't believe what was happening. That she was in a girl's body, that she couldn't remember her former name, and now they're telling her to strip naked. What was this about a caller? For all she knew, it could have been her friends that did all of this. What were they drinking? Maybe a pill or something fucked her up yesterday and she turned into a girl and here they were first in line to take advantage of her new body.

"I'm not fucking doing it."

"What? But the caller -"

"I said I'm not. Fucking. Doing it. Go fuck yourselves."

A tense pause caught hold of them. Danny checked to see if anyone had heard them. Tom whispered, "should we neuralyze her again?" but it was obvious that would do nothing but give her even more confusion. They discussed for a moment while Jenna stood apart from them, looking at the trees, feeling less of a friend every passing second. More of a joke.

Suddenly a sparrow landed on Tom's head. To Jenna, it chirped, but to the others, from its first word they already knew who it was. "Woopy doop! I'm getting tired of waiting. Tell ya what, I'll give ya three more minutes. Make sure your friend gets all showy-showy by then, or I'll make her all dowy-dowy!"

The bird flew away. Nobody knew what that meant, and nobody wanted to find out. "Jenna, you heard that bird?"

"What fucking bird?"

"It was the caller! You didn't hear a word?"

What fucking caller? Jenna's crossed arms tightened around her chest. This was ridiculous. What do they treat her as? But she knew that in her small frame, she wouldn't be able to resist if they did what they wanted. She had nowhere to run. But that somehow sounded exciting, even if just a little? No! What was she thinking?

"Jenna, I know this all seems really weird, and I'm sorry I accidentally used this thing on you but - but you have to believe us," Danny said. "Please."
