Playing cards with Triss

Triss groaned as she tossed her coins at Yennefer. “Why do you always win at these games?!” Triss whined to her best friend. “You always seem to get lucky somehow.”

“Oh come on, Triss. You’ve won a few times,” Yennefer said, smiling. “It’s not my fault you’re a terrible bluffer.”

Triss blushed. “I can’t help it. I’m not a sorcerer like you,” she said.

“Please, that has nothing to do with it. When you hang around Geralt you learn to hold a poker face” Yennefer said.

“How’s that going?” Triss asked. “Is he still flirting with you?”

“I’m not sure Geralt knows what flirting is,” Yennefer said. “But I suppose you could say he is.”

Triss sighed. “I’m sorry about... you know, Yen. I never meant for it to happen like that. You know how I feel about him, and he was just... there.”

Yennefer looked at her friend with actual hurt in her eyes, but then her look softened. “I understand,” she said. “To be honest, I probably would have done the same thing. I’m not mad at you or Geralt really, just mad at the world I guess.”

“Yen, please,” Triss said. “I want this feud between us to end. This is ridiculous. Let’s just say screw Geralt and just focus on us.”

Yennefer raised an eyebrow. “We both know neither of us would last with that,” she said. “I’m sort of bound to Geralt by fate. And you... well you’re Triss.”

“I guess you’re right,” Triss said. “Hey, how about we raise the stakes.”

“Oh, what do you mean?” Yennefer asked.

“Instead of money, let’s play for clothes. We’ll play strip poker. The loser has to complete a forfeit,” Triss said.

“Okay,” Yennefer said. “I guess if you’re offering, I might as well amuse you.”

Yennefer shuffled the deck and dealt the cards.
