The Plot Thickens

After Eric, Luna and Asami ate dinner, some homemade tacos. The three went to bed in the new Domains room. Shortly later at 10:00PM on the dot a tall hooded man knocked on Claire's door. He knocked exactly seven times and the door opened immediately. Without waiting the man walked inside.

"Good to see you again Claire." He says taking off his hooded jacket. His face is chiseled with muscles. He has a greying beard and greying hair. On his nose is a dark rimmed pair of glasses.

"Yeah, yeah. Take off your boots. I don't want dirt inside." Claire says, the man mumbles kicking off his boots and following her. He sits on a couch next to her recliner.

"So, how's the boy doing?" He asks causing Claire to scoff.

"Well Zack, he's supposed to be your grandson so you tell me." Claire tells him crossing her arms.

"Hey, I know I've been asking a lot of you, but I thought I still had a year before he awakened. I didn't expect someone to tamper with the seal." Zack says rubbing the bridge of his nose.

"I know. Anyway he's doing fine. The guilds discovered him and his powers but fortunately he saved their daughter's lives twice now and injured the Golden Devil so they had him create a new guild. He called it the Steele Wolves, and they've each entered a pact with him. And he's got two beast men with him. A Neko with the Stigma of truth working as a secretary and a Wolf as a fighter." She quickly explains causing Zack to grumble.

"You haven't given him the package yet, have you?"

"Nope, what is it anyway, can you tell me now? It would really help me decide when the right time is."

"How'd he injure the Golden Devil without it?"

"Well, it would seem that he's created a Soul-link with Bergeth and acquired Ancient Beast magic. And he didn't just scratch the Golden Devil, he tore his arms off. Now what's in the package?" Claire says all this and stuns Zack. He takes a moment to process this before talking.

"This isn't good, he's gaining powerful magic that he's not ready for. It's only a matter of time now before... No use over thinking it, just take it one step at a time." Zack thinks aloud before Claire clears her throat. "Sorry I'm not trying to ignore you. I can't say exactly what it is because I don't entirely know. BUT, what I do know is it's a type of Spellbook. It'll teach the reader a powerful, and very dangerous school of magic that she made."

"What!" Claire shouts standing up and looking to the package, current laying against her bookshelf. "Why is it here! If she made it then shouldn't it be in some vault so it doesn't get stolen!?" She turns to Zack angry and shocked.

"No, she added some precautions so don't worry. First off the package is enchanted to hide its magical energy from even Sensors. Secondly only Eric can understand the language within. So even if someone else got it they couldn't read it. That's also why I said I didn't know what was inside earlier." Claire calms down hearing this and sits down.

"Okay, so how do I know if he's ready?"

"You won't. Originally my plan was to have you monitor Eric while I tracked him down." Claire shudders hearing the mentioning of that man. "Then, a month before his awakening I'd tell him everything. That way he'd have time to adjust before getting his magic back. But then someone went and tampered with his seal. It was half assed to. I saw him earlier in a Dungeon and his seal was only partially undone. All his magic was released though. The only things still sealed are his blood and nature."

"Why don't you unseal it then? He already knows about the Lyna world now."

"I would, trust me, but I can't. Whoever broke the seal reinforced the rest of it. So it'll take time to break it. That's why I'm here though. I'll keep a close eye on him. Especially if he really did even half of what you said to the Devil. The rest of them won't like it." Seeing the confused look on Claire, Zack explains. "The Devils rarely work together. They tend to just do whatever they find entertaining, unless it had to do with that. And they're cautious. Every time someone has harmed one to so much as draw blood, they'd take care of it. So their's a good chance another Devil is going to target him." Zack sighs.

"So what do we do? Should we call in backup?"

"No, it's unlikely that the guilds have noticed his seal, not even Sensors can. However they are still on high alert with the Golden Devil and Katorg guild. Fortunately though they don't know of the two us. So if anything happens I'll step in. I'd like you to keep watching him though." Claire looks to him surprised.

"You? Your going to fight again?" Her question causes Zack to start laughing.

"Of course I will. It may have been a while but I've been practicing. Anyway can I count on you to watch him?"

"Of course. That is what we Sensors do best after all."

"Thanks, now what else has he been doing?" Zack asks her and she sighs. Claire starts from the very beginning, telling him everything Eric has done since their phone call.
