Confrontations: A Wolf Pretending To Be A Sheep, Part 8 - Gun To Gun, Part 7
Aaron put the deck of cards he had been using up til now down on the bar top while he scanned the hall and watched as The Medic quickly patched himself up then instructed his teammate on the other side of the hall on how to take care of their one-armed teammate. The Medic was very careful about passing supplies as he didn't want to incur anymore injuries. If only he knew that Aaron could kill them at anytime he wished. Why didn't he you're probably asking yourself right now... If he can just shoot through the wall or use the playing cards like before?
As explained previously, Suppressing his emotions and focusing his mind on the completion of immediate tasks to the virtually exclusion of all else causes Aaron to adopt a more Predatory Mindset and Predators are not concerned with trivialities such as morality or individual rights and they think nothing of the cruelty or brutality they inflict. To a Predator there are only those who eat and those who get eaten. Such is the Savage Nature of "The Survival of The Fittest."
So far Aaron was proving himself the best suited to survive and I think it could be said that while his methods may be brutal the results are nevertheless undeniable.
Aaron sat calmly and simply waited with his hands clasped together in front of him until the allotted time (10 Minutes) was over. Just as the 10 minutes expired, Aaron smiled behind his clasped hands as the Men in the hall prepared to come inside. He wasn't foolish enough to think that they would just play by his rules but in the end it really didn't matter because no matter what they did they were still going to die. Their fate had already been decided the moment Aaron chose to fight... Their lifetimes of experience and superior numbers rendered useless by Aaron's keen mind, honed physical prowess, and the resources available to him.
Aaron stood up and smiled like a polite host and greeted the Men with an outstretched hand., "Welcome Gentlemen to My Parlor... Shall We Play?"
Those words had no more than left Aaron's lips when the one-armed soldier revealed a hidden hand gun and fired at Aaron multiple times who effortlessly stepped to the side, waving his hand across the table as he did, causing his Tec-9 and the deck of cards to vanish in an instant.
As Aaron spoke he wagged a finger from side to side., "Now, Now Gentlemen... Is There Really A Need For Such ****?"
"KILL HIM!," The Leader shouted with obvious killing intent as all the remaining members of the strike squad drew their weapons.
"Tch.," Aaron clicked his tongue., "How Predictable."
In the fraction of a second it took the members of the strike squad to blink Aaron had disappeared. Each Man was already on edge as they looked frantically from side to side in an effort to spot their enemy. Suspecting an ambush at any moment, The Leader gave the order., "Alright Everyone Scatter and Find Cover."
"Hey, I'm Behind You.," The One-Armed Man heard Aaron's voice whisper in his ear. He yelled like a Madman as he turned., "Don't MESS WITH ME!!" The One-Armed Man fired in anger at what he thought was Aaron but wound up shooting the Man behind him instead and because the shot was high it missed the other Man's body armor and hit him in the throat just below his Adam's Apple.
"Over Here.," The One-Armed Man heard the strange whisper again and looked to his right to see Aaron looking over the shoulder of their Leader while smiling.
"Basta...," The One-Armed Man growled, raising his gun but he was cut short by a bullet which entered his brain just above his left ear, killing him almost instantly. The bullet came from the Man he shot who was dead before he hit the ground but not before the shock caused by the interruption of his nervous system by the bullet to the throat caused him to unintentionally fire his weapon.
With a handful of words, two Men were now dead. It was almost like Aaron planned it that way. Who says words can't hurt you?
"Shit THIS SON OF A BITCH IS PLAYING WITH US!...," Their Leader screamed as he took cover behind the love seat furthest from the door while the gunman identified as Yan took cover behind the bar and the last remaining member of the strike squad dove behind the coach which was close to the bar.
"Are you scared of little ol' me?," Aaron asked quietly and an eerie calm settled over the room as the three Men looked around while trying not to make themselves too big of a target but they couldn't find him. He sounded like he was everywhere but he was no where to be found... That is until Yan peeked out from behind the bar and noticed someone standing in the hall. It was Aaron leaned up against the wall as if he didn't have a care in the world.
With a couple of gestures, Yan got the attention of his Captain and the remaining member of their unfortunate team. The Captain and the other Man could barely believe their eyes, Aaron was just standing there inspecting his nails like he had just gotten a manicure.
"Let's shoot while he's distracted, Captain.," The Man behind the sofa whispered to his right.
"I'm With You.," Yan agreed.
"WAIT!," Their Leader almost yelled., "He's Been A Step Ahead of Us This Entire Time... No Way He's Left Himself That ****. He's Trying To Trick Us.," The Captain stated in a gravelly whisper.
"He's Just A KID!," The unknown gunman complained.
"SHUT IT Jave... What Did I Just Say? Have You Already Forgotten That That 'Kid' Has Been Handing All of Us Our Asses Since This Shit Show Started?"
"But...," Jave started but a sharp glare from The Captain silenced him.
"No Buts... If We Don't Start Taking This Bastard Seriously We'll Wind Up Dead Like The Rest of The Team."
Yan and Jave nodded.
"That Fucking Bitch Dropped Us In A Meat Grinder Without Even Warning Us. This Was Supposed To Be A Simple Job... If I Get Out of This I'm Going To Skin That Cunt Alive.," The Captain thought to himself before turning his mind away from anger and toward some kind of solution to get him and his Men out of this mess., "FUCK! If Only We Could Communicate With The Others and Co-ordinate We'd Have A Better Chance of Getting Out of This Mess."
[Clink... Clink... Clink]
All three Men inside the apartment looked toward Aaron who was holding a Champagne Glass and tapping it on the side with his Tec-9., "Attention Boys and Girls... I Have An Announcement.," Aaron paused and downed the contents of the glass in one gulp and then let the glass slip from his fingers and fall but it disappeared before it hit the ground. Now that Ladies and Gentlemen is fucking showmanship.
"I Do So Enjoy Entertaining A Captive Audience...," Aaron's wide smile evoked the image of a sharp dressed Demon bargaining with some Mortal for their Soul., "... Now That I Have Your Undivided Attention I..."
"Screw This!," Roared Yan as he stood up from behind the bar and sprayed the doorway with his **** rifle. Aaron stepped to the side, narrowly avoiding several rounds that impacted the wall where he was just standing while the rest stopped mid-air and fell to the floor like they had hit some kind of invisible wall.
"I Was Talking!," Aaron stated as he raised his right hand which held a small remote and pushed a button.
[Beep... Beep - Beep... Beep - Beep]
Yan gasped in horror as he turned to his right where the ominous beeping was coming from and saw a flashing red light coming from under the sofa at Jave's feet.
"Quick JAVE GET OUT OF THERE!," Yan and The Captain screamed practically in unison but before Jave even had time to get a handle on what was happening there was a loud pop followed by a deafening boom and a bright flash as half of the sofa, a layer of the floor and part of the wall behind Jave exploded and simply evaporated without a trace. Jave didn't even have a chance to scream as he was caught in the blast.
"Interesting isn't it?," Smirked Aaron as the remaining two Men looked at him in horror., "The Blake-Kenner C70 is a great weapon not only because of its compact design and high ammo capacity but once the weapon is no longer useful it can be used as a anti-personnel grenade that can be activated via a small remote that detaches from the grip. Once triggered the explosive literally disperses the target."
Yan was understandably angry seeing another of his teammates die but he was also so afraid that he could barely stand so he dropped down behind the bar. Yan was covered in cold sweat and he felt like he was going to be sick but he couldn't get the image out of his head from earlier when he angrily fired at Aaron and that's when he remembered something and began talking to The Captain using a form of Military Sign Language.
"Did You Notice Earlier?," Yan signed.
"You Mean When You Took Shots At Him Like An Idiot?," The Captain angrily signed back.
"The Gap In What Ever He's Using To Keep Us From Killing Him Like The Piece of Shit He Is."
The Captain nodded.
"Since I'm In The Best Position... I'm Going To Use The Barrier's Weakness To Kill This Arrogant Bastard!"
"Be Careful.," The Captain signed then gave Yan a thumbs up.
Yan took a couple of deep breaths to try and calm his nerves before carefully looking up over the bar and then ducking back down., "Perfect That Little Bastard Is Back Where He Was... If I Do This Right He'll Be Dead Before He Hits The Ground."
"DIIIIIIIIE!," Yan screamed as he fired at the flaw in the shield, only for the bullets to stop in mid-air, enveloped in red light.
"What The FUC....," Yan wasn't able to finish because a smiling Aaron pushed off from the wall with his foot and flicked the rippling wall in front of him with his index finger, sending the suspended bullets back across the room at a couple of thousand feet per second, shredding everything from Yan's chest up. What was left fell backward and landed with a thud.
"Too Easy.," Aaron cruelly chuckled.
After seeing all of his Men die one after another, The Squad's Leader was on the verge of a Mental Breakdown when he heard Aaron's voice call out to him., "Now Then Captain... It Appears That It's Just You and Me."
