Talk with Katherine

You head into your bedroom and find Katherine already half dressed. She glances at you and nods, then turns back to her dressing.

“Hey,” you greet, grabbing a shirt and boxers. “I don’t think we’ve been formally introduced… I’m John.”

She pauses and smirks. “Katherine. Nice to meet you, John,” she greets back.

“Yeah, OK.” Katherine agrees, fetching her phone where you left it. She opens the screen and stares. “Oh, I see you did take some video after all…” The video is at the point you stopped recording and she plays it in reverse.

“I guess you could splice it with Sabrina’s video to do a more produced video,” you suggest.

She takes a moment to think about it. “Huh… yeah. Can you do that?” she asks.

“Uh… A little cutting and pasting and it should work,” you reply, after some thought of your own. You are fairly confident that you could figure it out.

“Then let’s do it!” she says, grabbing her sister’s phone as well.

“It’s probably locked by now,” you say about Sabrina’s phone, but Katherine is already swiping on the lock screen and a second later she holds it up, open to use. “Yeah, of course you’d know the passcode,” you nod.

You head back to your computer with both phones and download the two videos. Connecting them via cable makes the download quick. You have them both opened up in your editing app and figure out how to splice in one video into the next. From there, it is all about picking the best angles. The two of you watch your performance on the screen.

“So… are you and Sabrina close?” Katherine asks, after watching on in silence.

“We’re coworkers,” you tell her. “Classmates too.”

“So she doesn’t have her eye on you for anything more serious?” Katherine smiles. “Just a fuck buddy?”

“Actually last night was the first time we’d done it,” you admit.

“Really?” Katherine responds in surprise, then she leans back and shrugs. “It usually takes her a while to warm up to somebody,” she chuckles. “Maybe you were just a convenient body to make her video then.”

“Eh… maybe…” you admit, although it felt like there was something more between you and Sabrina. Katherine could be right though; you could have been in the right place at the right time.
