Fennec was lying naked on the cold, wet cement surrounded by spilt packages and boxes. Only the flimsy canvas partition at the back of a vendor’s stall protected her from the bustling, seedy night market on the other side. It would only take one person to bring her humiliating state to the attention of a thousand eyeballs and that person was approaching now.

She could hear her slipping between two vendor’s stalls. With hands bound behind her and legs still tingling from the recent shock, she’d be lucky to be on her feet before the woman arrived, let alone cross the few meters to the nearby alley.

“You hear me?” the woman called to the old astromech as she rounded the corner. In that last second, a **** Fennec rolled herself under the loose edge of the fabric partition. She pinched her eyes shut, saying a prayer to whatever gods she could think of that she wasn’t rolling herself into the middle of a crowd of shoppers or someplace worse.
