Dinner and drinks

“How can I refuse such a generous offer from my new pal, Matt?” you ask.

“You really shouldn’t,” they both say at nearly the same time.

Everyone laughs, then you say, “How about we meet up for dinner and drinks around 7?”

“Sounds like a date,” she says.

You all get in the carts and head back to the clubhouse. Matt and Mel return to their car and give you a wave as they head out of the parking lot. You throw your equipment in the trunk of the car then head back to the clubhouse to settle up with John.

You head over to the bar and are soon met by John. “Here’s the money I owe you for the round,” you say handing him $60.

“Thanks,” he replies. “We’re not going to just sit here and pretend you didn’t notice how fine Melanie was looking? Are we?”

“Yes, she’s extremely attractive John,” you say.

“Too bad she has a fiancé,” he says. “She’d be a fun one to hang out with otherwise”

“Yeah, too bad,” you reply to John.

“It’s probably best you keep your little secret from John,” you think to yourself.

“Alright, I’m out John. People to do, places to see“ not realizing your mistake. John laughs, thinking your drink from earlier must have caught you by surprise.

You return to your car and head home to prepare for the evening. As you pull into the driveway and open the garage, you realize the dilemma you are facing. The garage is still a mess and you have other things on the to-do list that you haven’t even started. You are now second guessing your plans for this evening.
