Are you too good for your home?

You are standing on the 18th green. You are down 1 hole but have a nine foot birdie putt after sticking your approach shot from 175 out. Matt has a 17 foot putt for par after he pulled his approach shot into the sand then had his ball check up out of the trap. Your confidence level is increasing that you can make this a push as his short game hasn’t been great the last three holes. Then, Matt lines up and drains his putt to save par. Now the pressure is on!

You check your read twice then step up to your ball. You haven’t been this nervous about a putt in some time. “It’s just a nine footer, with a few inches of break,” you tell yourself. You line up your putt and the ball is rolling toward the right edge of the cup. The ball hits the hole and lips out, thus securing Matt’s victory.

Matt jumps with joy like he just won the Masters. He comes over to concede the tap-in, not that it matters at this point. He shakes your hand and congratulates you on an excellent round. You did just card a 76 after all.

You walk over to Mel to return the thong and see the disappointment in her eyes. Matt then returns to the carts next to the green and says, “Not so fast, Ryan.” Mel’s eyes light up and a smile returns to her face. “Just because I won my key back doesn’t mean I’m the one fucking Mel tonight!” he says.

Mel gives him a big hug and kiss then says, “Oh I love this man so much! He really cares about my desires! Here Ryan, I want you to keep my thong and we’ll see you tonight? she asks.

You can’t believe how this day is turning out. The highs, the lows, the unknowns. You feel an excitement you haven’t felt in a while and frankly, you feel nearly 1/2 your age again. Now the key question is, will you see her tonight?
