Five Years Later

I stretch as I get out of bed. I slide off the side of the bed, feet barely touching the ground. I'm currently staying in a hotel at a beach resort. I'm in my room. I walk to the bathroom, running my hands through my hair. Hot water hits my face, waking me up. Thankfully I got off of my period a few days ago-- just before the trip, so my cramping has subsided. I still wake up for like, five days with a light ache, but otherwise I'm good to go. Hot water helps clear that up, so morning showers are an absolute must. The shower door opens. "Hey you." A short girl with bright green hair and eyes walks in with me, activating the other shower head, opposite of my own. "Oh, morning Emma." I state, ruffling up her hair. "How you feeling?" She chuckles, "Still flabbergasted by the fact that women's periods synchronize if they live together. I know I became female like, what, two years ago?-- Regardless, I'm still learning things." I slap her ass. "It's worth it though, to feel like you're in the right body." She nods, "Oh absolutely. Being 'Ethan' just didn't cut it, really." I grin. My phone buzzes, and I shout, "Answer, loudspeaker." It responds. "Hey girlfriends, you up?" Emma responds, "Yup." The voice is Cassidy, "Vivi and I just arrived. I can't believe we haven't seen you for a whole fucking year." I smile, "Got here yesterday." Vivi's voice comes through, "Daniel is here too!" His voice, "Hey girls." Emma, "Hi!~"

We discuss a meetup spot, and the phone call ends.

"I've missed the shit out of her." I smile, drying off. Emma nods, "Yeah. I know setting up a new facility in Europe was something we wanted to do, but, homesickness is only natural." I nod, "Cassidy may have made great progress legislating for legal nudity in the States, but our older sibling of a nation is still a little thick-headed with some minor things. Far more progressive with some-- far behind with others." Emma smiles, "Well, she hasn't worn a piece of clothing in, what, four years? Would've been more if it wasn't for that Vacation in the midwest. Almost got arrested." I laugh, "She was about to go to jail for it, willingly... that crazy woman."

We head over to the beach, also completely naked. This island in particular has already allowed such acts. We see the girls and Daniel. "Hey you all!" I wave. Cassidy comes running over, embracing me in a hug. Vivi, the same for Emma. "We missed you guys." A kiss.

Daniel walks over as well. "Hey baby!" I say, with a smile, kissing him. "Hey you."

"Woah, it's gonna be huge when it's done." Pictures of the new facility, displayed on a screen. "Yeah, and then we can finally start recruiting seriously here in Europe." Cassidy smiles, "We'll move up here with y'all once the facility is finished. Then I can start my plans as well." I smile, "Of course." Vivi, "Life has been so busy. Vivi hopes we can all settle down soon." Emma nods, "Indeed. I'd like things to go back to the good 'ol days, a bit." Cassidy smiles, "Me too, honestly. Once the work is done." I nod. "Absolutely."

The sun begins to set. Vivi, Emma and Daniel are playing volleyball on the beach.

Cassidy and I have some time alone. "It's been a fuckin' crazy few years, eh?" I smile. She nods, "Mhm. It's only going to get crazier too." I chuckle, sitting next to her. The sun warms us as the darkness crawls up. The lighting is wonderfully soothing. The quiet eases us in. "I love you." I whisper. "I love you too, you crazy bastard."

A soft kiss.
