Taylor knew that the quickest way the three of them would get out of prison would be if Ospina got out. At that point, Victoria would have them all released.

“Yes, we did it,” Taylor confirmed.

“Holy shit… she’s already been here for over a year. You’re actually evil.”

Taylor dropped to her knees, expecting to suck Jones off, but he pushed her away. “Get off me. I need to call the DA.” He left the cell and slammed the door shut behind him. Taylor heard the keys turning in the heavy locks.

The next morning at breakfast, Taylor and Josephine were surprised to see Alexina being brought through to the cafeteria.

“Lex! You’re OK!” Taylor said.

“Yeah… that was rough. Not sure when I’ll be able to sit down again. How long was I in there?” Alexina asked.

“About 36 hours,” said Josephine. “Why did they let you out so early?”

“It felt like it had been more than three days… honestly, I thought it might have been the whole two weeks and you two had already been released. They said they were letting me out because we’re going to court for re-sentencing tomorrow.”

“What? But we haven’t done anything wrong!” Josephine protested.

Taylor felt like she had to confess. “I told them that we framed Maria Ospina.”

“What the hell, Tay?!” said Alexina.

“It means she’ll get out soon, and once she’s out then Victoria will let us out too!”

“Not how it works, you idiot! If we get convicted of a crime while we’re in here then there’s nothing Victoria can do. How long are we looking at?”

“The guard said I’d get twenty years because I confessed, and you two would get twenty-five to thirty.”

“Fuck,” said Josephine. “Ok, we need to break Maria out before we get sentenced. If we’re going to court tomorrow, we have to get her out today so that Victoria can also get us out.”

At that point, the bell rang for work duties. One of the guards apprehended the three Angels and let them to the door that led to the men’s prison. Maria Ospina was waiting by the doors already.

“Ospina, you’re on janitorial duty until further notice. Beat it,” said the guard.

“We’ll find you later,” said Josephine as Ospina walked away.

“Skriver, one more word from you and I’ll write you up for a whole year in the Hole. I’m sure Graham’s told you all about what a lovely place that is for a sexy bitch like you.”

Josephine bit her tongue. She didn’t want to be punished any more than she was already.
