Go to Pizza Sound

You had never heard of Pizza Sound until today. Looking at the stunted, dilapidated architecture haphazardly squeezed between two other buildings, as though the contractor had forgotten that a pizza shop was supposed to be there at all, you decide that few other people have heard of Pizza Sound, as well.

You see Alex take a hard look at Google Maps to confirm that you were at the right location, though that's unnecessary. The word PIZZA SOUND is in neon lights right above the door. However, the 'P' and the 'U' aren't working, so the sign says "IZZA SOND".

Alex leads the way into the pizza shop. It's empty--not surprising--save for a woman standing behind the counter, scrolling through her cellphone. She has pink hair, thick glasses, and wears a black tee-shirt that says "BELIEVE ALL WOMAN", and, below that, "EXCEPT AMBER HEARD". She looks up from her phone screen when she hears the door open.

"We spoke on the phone earlier," Alex says, "You said you could help us."

The lady nods and ushers you and Alex to one of the tables near the front of the restaurant. She introduces herself as "Tiffany", a college dropout who splits her time between working for her father and writing a blog (which she receives no money from, she confesses to you). After Alex introduces himself, they both turn to you.

You and Alex had rehearsed what you were going to say on your way to Pizza Sound, but now you couldn't remember what you had practiced.

You feel a hand cover yours. At first, you think it's Alex, but when you look up, you find that the hand belongs to Tiffany.

"You can trust me," she whispers, and, in that moment, you feel that you _could _trust her.

You tell her everything: about the phone call you received that morning, about how you had once been a healthy young man, and even about the condition that you would be a girl for 48 hours, so long as you didn't get pregnant. The only part of the story you leave out is that you and Alex had fucked. You didn't want to embarrass him (or yourself).

As you explain everything, Tiffany is expressionless. When you finish, she is still holding your hand, though you aren't sure if it is for your comfort, or for hers.

"I know this sounds fucked up," Alex says, "but, John is telling the truth."

He takes out his phone and opens his photo album. He finds a picture of you and him at the beach--the same one that you had as a screen saver--and shows this to Tiffany.

"This is John. You can look through my photo album. I have zero pictures of Jane. That's because Jane didn't exist until this morning."

You also show her your phone and direct her attention to your call history. She could see that her company number had called you that morning.

Tiffany's grip on your hand tightens. She breaths out, slowly, and you think, She's having a panic attack, but she is able to collect herself, and she redirects her attention to you.

"I'll level with you. I'm not sure if I buy...this," and she makes a sweeping motion in your direction, "but, this seems way too crazy for a prank. So, either this is real, or you two are insane."

She goes back to the counter and looks at something on the company phone screen. Then, she presses a button on the phone, and places it on speaker. Your heart catches in your throat when you hear the phone ring.

And ring.

And ring.

Then someone answers.
