Shepard and Liara meet alone

Shepard entered a private apartment courtesy of Aria with a big smile on her face. Her face faltered when her eyes met Liara who was waiting for her. “Shepard…” Liara said.

“Liara…” Shepard said.

Shepard sat down and Liara sat beside her. “I’m sorry,” Liara whispered as she rested her hand on Shepard’s thigh.

Shepard didn’t meet Liara’s eyes and she looked away. “I can’t believe you did that,” Shepard said.

“I had ****,” Liara said. “Shepard, I would do anything. ANYTHING to save you from pain, ****…”

“But… you did hurt me. You hurt me more than anyone ever could. Liara I wasn’t hurt by Vasir, I was hurt by you. You humiliated me. You broke my heart. You… meant the world to me Liara, and then you took everything from me,” Shepard said.

“I… I wanted so badly to tell you, Shepard. But… do you have any idea how much information Vasir had on you?!” Liara said.

“It doesn’t matter!” Shepard yelled. “Liara, you don’t get it! I don’t care what the world knows! I took down the fucking Reapers, the Illusive Man! I’ve dealt with the Council and their stupidity! I even dealt with the quarians and the geth with their stupid wars! I lost friends, family! I’ve gone through hell and back! And this… this was supposed to be my fucking retirement! My euphoria! And what do I get?! I get the love of my life going out of her way to make me look like an idiot!!!”

Liara’s eyes widened. “I…”

“You never once asked me how I would feel about this. You never once gave me the chance to work with you. After everything we’ve been through, I thought you of all fucking people would never try to hurt me… would know me better than that and would know that I ALWAYS find a way,” Shepard yelled. “What’s even worse is you put everyone up to this! You lied to Tali! You lied to me! You’ve lied to me so much I don’t even know what the truth is anymore!”

“Shepard, please,” Liara said. “I just…”

“Liara,” Shepard said as she stared Liara in the eyes. “I can never trust you again.”

Shepard stormed out leaving Liara alone, tears forming from both of them.
