Before someone Spoke up, but Who?
"I think that's a good Idea" - Sam
"Excuse me?" Clover asked, leaning back from the shock of who spoke up and what they said. Alex and Kendra also had to take a double take at it. All three were looking at Sam who by this point had just gotten some coffee.
"What?" Sam said as she took a sip from her mug, "I think it's a good idea for them to go on dates."
Before Clover could really go off Sam held up a hand and motioned for Clover to sit. The blonde did so with a grumble, not even realizing she had stood up. Taking another long sip, Sam looked over the women before her. It was something that she'd been trying to put together since last night but only really started to put it into a more presentable idea after seeing the Ring on Alex's finger. The redhead took a long breath before speaking.
"Regardless of how we feel, you mainly Clover," She shot the blonde a look, "This whole thing has gone too far too fast. Cupid can't expect us to willingly submit to being with someone just because their weird system says we are a good match to each other." She turned to Alex and Kendra, "Honestly looking from the sidelines you two do seem rather..., cute together."
The pair blushed as Clover rolled her eyes. It was clear what she thought about this but Sam wasn't done yet.
"That. Said. I don't think simply having a one-night stand is going to greatly change things. Maybe it will. The point is I believe currently the plan is still as thus; we wait the two weeks while collecting info before going back to our world. Maybe Jerry or WHOOP can figure something out." Sam said, pointing her mug at Clover, "So yes, we are still going to go about breaking this contract. I didn't see anything in the papers about how consummating the marriage meant it couldn't be broken." She took another long drink before scooching a bit in her seat and leaning forward, her elbows on the table and fingers intertwined.
"That also said Clover, you do not have the right, nor the privilege to say who should date who or how one of us finds happiness." Clover was about to say something but Sam held up a hand, "No Clover. I'm done arguing with you about this. If you want to not have anything to do with this whole thing, that's on you. But you don't get to talk for me OR Alex." Sam turned to her tanned friend before adding, "Nor do I have a right to speak for Alex... Or for you either Clover." She shot the blonde a glance.
"Regardless of who Kendra ends up with or doesn't, I want this on record because we ARE friends Clover. If one of us wants out of this marriage, we all have to help them try to server it. There's no reason to just give up helping people we've been friends for years. Got it?"
There was a brief pause before the other women nodded, Kendra included. Sam took another breath and let out of sigh before turning to Kendra.
"Kendra, I do agree with you about rushing in too fast. But, that's also on Alex to figure out if she wants to pursue something more. I do think it's a good sign that you're willing to take it slow but that's on me." Sam said with a smile.
"I...., I don't know...., I think it's really nice and.... ahg..." Alex blurted out in an interruption making everyone turn towards her. "I don't wanna say no but I don't wanna start planning wedding invitations and... oh geeze what's my mom gonna think..." Alex fidgeted in her seat and played with her hands, wringing them out as she semi babbled.
Sam simply got up and moved over to the other Spy, pulling her into a hug. Clover hung back for a moment before shooting a shot of air from her mouth, trying to shift some bangs out of the way before joining in. Alex just pulled her friends closer. Realizing this was something for the girls only, Kendra just sat back and let them hug it out. With a final squeeze the girls separated.
"Alex I..., don't know what your mother will think but... look I'm NEVER going to hate you okay?" Clover said, craning her neck a bit as a hand came up to rub the back of said neck, "I admit I'm..., OVERBLOWN with my reactions but I do want you to be happy. Maybe my thoughts of happiness aren't for you. So.., you can at least not worry about that okay. And..., well wedding dress shopping would be fun." The blonde offered with a small smile.
"Thanks Clover. Heh, trust you to always wrap around to clothing." Alex said with a small laugh.
"Some people laugh to cope, I shop. You both know this." Clover said as her eyes narrowed but that all-knowing smile didn't leave her face.
"So what you're saying is we should just take you to the biggest and fanciest mall in the city and let you loose for a few hours?" Sam asked with a smirk.
"..., well. I wouldn't say NO. Though from what I've seen on TV, the local fashion is just so... bland. UGH." Clover grimaced with her tongue out. The other two laughed at the look before Clover herself joined in. Eventually the laughter died down and the trio looked at Kendra, who had been chuckling.
"Um... sorry, it was kinda funny." The cartoonist said, "I do... only know you from the show but that IS so Clover." She offered.
"..., That is so me Yeah." Clover said with a slight huff but she still kept a bit of a grin on her face, "At least your show of me got that right." Clover gave another annoyed sigh before stepping behind Alex and giving her a shove, making her tumble a bit towards her new 'wife'. "Look don't just stand there dingus, work it out."
"R..,right. Um...," Alex muttered as she shimmed a bit in place before she clapped her cheeks with her hands and stood up straight. "Um Kendra! Would... would you.. go out with me!" she proclaimed with a firmness in her stance, "I... really enjoyed last night and while I am kinda a... physical kinda girl, I don't want sex to be the only thing between us! So... So..., Um..., " she started to trail off and look a bit unsure before turning back to her friends. "Um... never dated a girl before. Help?"
Clover shrugged as Sam pinched her nose. Kendra let out a small laugh as she got up. Before Alex could do anything, the Cartoonist had come close and took the Spy's hands in her own.
"Honestly, just treat me like anyone else you've dated. Just maybe a little softer okay?" The woman said with a softness to her voice.
"Oh okay... um..., can I.... maybe, get one more kiss?" Alex muttered as she shuffled her feet just a bit closer.
Kendra chuckled as she stepped up to the spy, draping her arms around Alex and lightly kissed her. The spy's eyes widen in surprise for a moment, but slowly closed her eyes and returned the kiss. More passionate than the light peck she had started with but still far more subdued than what it had turned into. Alex was a fast learner.
The cartoonist enjoyed the sensation of Alex's lips, an arm starting to caress her back to increase her pleasure, too. It doesn’t take long for the spy to moan, earning a look from both of the others in the room. Not wanting to push this further in public, Kendra stepped back as Alex's knees buckled just a bit. She'd been leaning too much into the kiss and had to fully support herself now. She recovered in that cute fumbling awkward way she had, and looked into her 'wife's' eyes with a smile on her face.
“...That was... wow. Uh, I mean.” She hastily corrected herself, blushing. “If every kiss is gonna be like that I think I made a really good choice! Um...,.” She smiled before giving a glance at the others only to lean in and whisper, “We’re going to have to do this again.”
"Snnnnnk, of course we will. So long as you're willing." Kendra replied as she leaned forward and gave Alex another peck on the cheek. She blushed so red it’s almost like she turned into a tomato.
"Alright alright. We don't need the love birds getting too cozy in front of us." Clover muttered with a fold of her arms.
"I actually agree with Clover on this." Sam flatly said before walking up to Kendra, "I don't know what the agenda is going to be today but I do suggest you go get dressed. Maybe we will go shopping just to blow off some steam. Or just a drive. I don't know but sitting in your robe all day probably isn't a good move."
"Good idea..., and I think I'll go get changed alone, if you don't mind." Kendra said, shooting Alex and awkward look as the Spy was about to say something. "We'll... discuss things later. Clothing first."
Kendra gave Alex another hug and then darted back to her room, hoping to find something appropriate to wear. Alex waved her off and called out that they'd be in the living room. Clover gave another defeated sigh while Alex poured herself some more coffee. It was going to be another long day.
"Ugh..., we're gonna have to draw up some sort of system so these two aren't shagging in front of us." Sam thought as she took another sip.
