The shrink

Before they entered the psychiatrist’s office, Charlene made her ‘daughter’ change out of ‘her’ halter top and into a pink cropped tube top which showed off ‘her’ fresh cleavage.

“A girl’s gotta use what she’s got if she wants to get what she wants, hun!”, Charlene waxed lyrical.

The reception area and waiting room were surprisingly stylish and modern, with up to date magazines, relaxing zen music and water features.

Unlike at Dr. Jacob’s place, Dr. Pridemore saw Andrea virtually straight away.

The psychiatrist was in his late forties, rake-thin but healthy with salt and pepper hair, sparkling blue eyes, and an electric blue suit, seeming more like a celebrity host than a psychiatrist.

His personality too was like a showman’s, flamboyant but masculine, and Andrea reckoned that he probably pitched for the home team.

“Hi, I’m Dr. Pridemore, but you can call me Jerry if you like, whatever you’re more comfortable with. So, Farida tells me you’re wanting to transition, hm?”, the doctor asked Andrea, who looked at Charlene, who in turn only gestured to Andrea to answer.

Andrea sighed internally; ‘Looks like I gotta do this all on my own. Oscar, here I come’.

Andrea confirmed and answered all the questions the doctor gave ‘her’; much the same as Dr. Jacobs’, but far more in depth and more tactfully worded.

Andrea struggled to quickly remember everything ‘she’ had said to Dr. Jacob’s, the gaps where ‘she’ had to think to remember answers making ‘her’ appear ever so the ditz ‘she’ had purported ‘herself’ to be.

The session was only an hour, but it seemed to last for at least ten for Andrea.

Finally Jerry announced, “Well I’m satisfied. There’s no way you’re faking anything. Regarding social transition, we have a whole bunch of programs I can refer you too, but to be honest, you already pass completely already. Complete fish you could say. I’ll email you your diagnosis and reports, and just let me know if you need me to sign any documents. Just to warn you, the courts are pretty backed up so it may take a while to get your gender recognized legally, but you can still put it as female on most IDs”.

Andrea was thankful for that last comment.

Charlene and Andrea thanked the shrink and left, Charlene announcing that after lunch she’d take Andrea…
