Chapter 81 by Akula
What's next?
Life of a Djinn
Simon flinched before he ever heard Jessica’s face smack the counter as the cheerleader’s mind groaned out another frustrated cry. His girlfriend was probably red in the face based on her reaction. The Mother grew concerned,
“Jessica?”
“Rabbits are Jessica’s favorite animal,” he explained aloud, “But because her name related to a sexualized cartoon, kids found it easier to tease her about it.”
The blonde teenager slumped back into her chair, huffing, “That stupid name ruined everything. Jessica Rabbit.”
“My apologies, Jessica. I did not mean to offend you by….”
“Don’t apologize! It’s not like you transformed into a rabbit when I was a baby….”
Simon failed to see the genie blush in front of her daughter as she caught the raised eyebrow of her daughter. To avoid yet another tailspin, he spoke up another question,
“So, you were told that mortals were…primitive?”
He placed another plate of food before the genie as she stared at it rather than at Simon. Reluctantly she answered his question,
“The Masters said you were not worthy enough to embrace magic and existed as a blight where no magic existed. They learned how to bind us and that by rejecting magic to save yourselves, you were nothing more than grains of sand upon the ground.”
Save yourselves? Reject?
“Are…are genies religious?”
“What is ‘religious’?”
“Like God, Mom,” Jessica crossed her arms, “Church and Holy stuff….”
As if speaking in an alien tongue, the genie again looked at her daughter with some embarrassment and confusion,
“I’m sorry, Jessica. I do not understand this concept.”
The Master and teenage genie looked at each other again for a quick session to stay on the same page,
‘Master, it’s a little complicated, don’t you think? How do you explain religion to a genie?’
‘Ionno, but here goes…’
“So, um, mortals, we have different beliefs to answer questions we don’t know. Usually, about the existence of big questions, why do we exist, or what happens when we die? And we pass on these stories and moments that either did or didn’t happen to help us through life. Because we don’t live forever…and…sometimes it comforts those who submit their fate or life to a higher power to feel safe from ****. And some religions have rules, or instructions, on how to live a better life, some don’t.”
As Simon looked up to gauge the reaction of Maridallura, he found the genie had actually focused and listened to him for the first time without a hint of malice or disdain until he finished. The genie proceeded to eat and touch herself again as she did so. Once finished with her food and moans, the genie remained quiet, to her daughter’s embarrassment. Jessica leaned in as her Mother remained in thought but then looked up,
“I…I suppose…as genies…our beings are our religion…we have rituals and stories and are commanded to follow them. When bound, we all submit ourselves to the purpose of our existence. We do not disobey. We know what happens if we violate certain acts. We are given the story of our creation.”
Maridallura frowned, “But we are not mortal. There is no ****. There is no need for it. We are eternal.”
Well, that was…pleasant.
Simon sighed and dropped his shoulders. The teenager leaned back against his fridge and let his brain absorb the genie’s words again. He then scoffed and let out a laugh,
“Funny. In one religion, it said that the Djinn were angry that we were chosen to have the Earth. Another that mentioned you said the Ifrit was angry about humanity being chosen for free will….”
Jessica sighed as she rested her face against her arm and looked over at her Mother,
“We lose our free will once we’re bound, don’t we?”
Maridallura raised an eyebrow and then frowned, “Jessica…I’m sorry, but I’m unfamiliar with this term…though, I heard it mentioned before….”
The genie’s daughter sighed again and shook her head, “Free will’s where you’re allowed to learn what you want, do what you want, make your own choices, and think for yourself…only unbound genies have that, right?”
Her Mother shook her head, “No, Jessica. As Djinn sisters, we have our own thoughts and know our magic, but…I have always been compelled to follow my path….”
Jessica froze as she tried to process her Mother’s answer.
Did she admit to not having free will even when she wasn’t bound to a Master? What the fuck did she mean by compelled?
A question suddenly popped into the cheerleader’s head. The urges practically whispering in her ear to ask,
“Mom…when you’re with your Master, do you…do genies…talk differently? Like as people?”
Maridallura looked at her daughter and grew more guarded from her question,
“Jessica. What are you asking me?”
The future prom queen leaned forward as she held out her arms and tried to figure out what she was even asking for herself,
“Like, do you suddenly talk and refer to yourself differently? Like you don’t refer to yourself as “I,” or “me,” or….”
“Do you mean when this one speaks as opposed to when I speak, Jessica?”
Jessica felt her eyes try to pop out of her skull again as she held her hands open, “Oh my gosh, Yes! Exactly like that!”
Unlike the smile that grew on her daughter’s face, her Mother’s eyes trembled as she became nervous and ducked down to look at her body,
“That is how we speak among ourselves and to the Masters, Jessica. You do not need to speak in such a way.”
Oh. Jessica froze up as she stared at her Mother for a moment and then laughed nervously,
“Oh! Okay! Just wondering, that’s all!”
Her Mother’s eyes narrowed, “Jessica, are you lying to me?”
Crud.
The genie ducked her head and blushed, averting her Mother’s gaze, and attempted to think of a way to explain herself. Part of her stopped as she heard her Master’s mind amused by something,
‘This feels familiar….’
At first, the cheerleader wanted to scoff, but then she realized the context and understood her Master’s words. She and Maridallura weren’t talking about everyday things, but they were as if a teenage daughter was caught lying by her Mother. So Jessica smiled and let a bubbly giggle escape.
“Jessica. Tell me. Have you been speaking that way?”
Her Mother’s serious tone made her smile more.
“Jessica!”
The genie snapped her daughter from her brief moment of happiness, and the cheerleader looked to the now anxious woman again, “S-Sorry, Mom. I just realized I never got to have a moment like this with you before. It’s like we’re having a real Mom and Daughter conversation!”
Maridallura’s eyes widened, and the genie blushed in confusion at the sight of her daughter’s smile. Jessica sighed and then shrugged, “First time I heard anyone talk like that was when I went inside my ring for the first time. Then, after I came out, I did it several times. Once when I was super aroused and once after the wish to bring you here.”
As she looked to her Mother for her reaction, she found the genie only staring off blankly again, much as her Master would. Apparently, her Mother knew more about it than she was letting on, but her fellow genie remained quiet again. Then Maridallura’s own face dropped her guarded shell, briefly flashing a smile,
“…Mom…and Daughter….”
“Mom?”
‘Jess, I think you just made her happy saying that.’
Simon’s point was apparent, but it only made the blonde raise her eyebrow. Maridallura’s eyes fluttered, and she quickly returned to her previous demeanor. The elder genie’s eyes glanced guardedly at the young man on the other side of the counter and the daughter to her right. Why would something like that be such a compliment? Her Mother had one, too, didn’t she?
“So, what was your relationship with Jess’s grandma?”
Maridallura frowned and glared at the boy again, “I do not know what that mortal term is. Must you ask such strange questions?”
She didn’t know what, “Mom, that’s what I would call your Mother. A Grandmother is the Mother of your parent. Like, Daddy’s Mom or your Mom.”
The genie repeated the word on her lip, “Grandmother….”
Jessica gulped nervously and blushed with a bashful smile, “So, if I ever had a child. You would be their Grandmother….”
“We genie…we have no such titles…I do not know my maker or birther…we do not have the same relationships or titles that mortals carry…only sisters…or owners…there are no boundaries or restrictions among us. Only when we birth, we are made to give the newborn to the sisters to be raised as one.”
Jessica watched as her Mother squirmed and clutched her knees again as she struggled,
“I only learned what a mother was when I came here. When I had you…if I had been among my sisters, I would give you to them to be raised as our new sister, but I was on my own. And when you were born, I knew I wanted to try. I wanted to be your Mother.”
The cheerleader took a moment to process her Mother’s words. Genie had no mothers and no fathers; they were raised among other genies, trained or bred by their Masters to suit their needs. And yet when Jessica thought of family, she felt the urge. She felt the words. Because of that, she needed to know,
“Mom…if, do genies even think of themselves as a family besides sisters?”
“Jessica, among genies, nothing is more important than their fellow sisters. Our relationships and feelings are stronger and deeper than any mortal bond. It should be close. It must be close. Our purpose has always been to serve, obey, and serve others to serve ourselves. We must always be close to those that we care for.”
The more Maridallura spoke, the more apparent her arousal grew as she told. Her hands parted the robe between her legs once more as the genie explained how their society worked. Jessica’s eyes widened as she blushed furiously and spun on her stool. She glanced up at her Master’s face as Simon froze up and scrunched his face shut, his face also turning a deep shade of red.
“Does everything always have to be about sex, so much….”
“Jessica!” her Mother gasped at her embarrassed reaction. It was almost as if a grave insult had been uttered from the cheerleader’s mouth,
“Do not say such things! You were born of sex!”
The teenager nearly found herself toppled from her stool as her emerald eyes remained wide as saucers, and she looked at the protest and upset state her Mother found herself in. Maridallura frowned,
“You are a genie, a being of life and creation. You are the conduit for the power of life and all living things. To deny yourself of sexual energy is to deny your existence itself! That is one of the reasons I chose to leave you among mortals! Once you had reached maturation and safely bound, you had the potential to let your power grow unhindered as you navigate from your mortal life.”
Jessica felt her face pale and swallowed the saliva building at the back of her throat,
“So, what? I’m some sort of fucking Succubus?”
Again, her Mother’s face became confused as her daughter became frustrated. Any time Simon helped her explain, Maridallura would put her guard up, and any time she asked a question that seemed obvious, her Mother didn’t always understand it because she only spent three years among so-called mortals. Moreover, the cheerleader had begun to grow exasperated by the genie’s answers and seeming faux-Paus.
“Mom, Succubus, attractive woman that’s really draining the life **** of others through seduction and sex? Am I draining Master’s life and killing him by having sex with him?”
Thankfully, her Mother seemed to share in the same sense of offense at the insinuation, “Jessica, that’s ridiculous! Who would insult you with such a word! This mortal?”
Simon sighed and slumped over against the fridge again in defeat. Jessica’s awkward childhood friend only wanted to get along with the genie’s Mother for her sake. The constant reminder of Maridallura’s anger made him depressed and question himself.
Jessica couldn’t afford that or allow that.
“No, Mom. It was people at school. Because they would call me that behind my back when boys in my class wished they could fuck me or date me, and I would do it against my will, so it would always end badly for them! Because not knowing you’re a genie and making unbound wishes makes it harder to control it!”
The growling and bitter reminder that she had always been a genie and unable to control her magic again caused her Mother’s head to duck in shame. The centuries-old genie looked down childishly as she apologized for being unaware of her daughter’s power.
Another awkward silence formed as Jessica groaned and rubbed her face. She could feel another headache coming on from the way the conversation branched off into so many various answers or explanations. The delightful moment between Mother and daughter now turned sour as it would with a teenager and parent. Although, genies apparently did not have parents, save for her.
She sighed, knowing she had to continue forward,
“Master believes, as I do, that the reason a genie orgasms from their wishes is because its part of the binding process. That obedience is pleasure, essentially. Is that true or not, Mom?”
Maridallura bit her tongue and closed her eyes tightly for a moment before silently nodding to her daughter’s question. The elder genie needed a moment to breathe once more as she clutched her hands tightly to the dark blue robe covering her body. The blonde Mother’s voice softly escaped her lips,
“Our connection to magic…is through our sex…to ensure our compliance, the binding rewards us pleasure equal to the release of energy. Obedience through pleasure is an apt description…but it also has another purpose,”
Jessica watched her Mother’s face flush as she spoke,
“As I told you before, we are able to bend the intent of our magic to what we desire. It is more difficult to wield when our minds are overwhelmed by pleasure. The more likely our Masters receive their desires if we cannot process or choose an outcome for ourselves.”
Maridallura lowered her gaze,
“Our magic is sacred to us. Using it to grant only desires without considering its impact allows us to free ourselves through the infliction of its consequences. That is why mortals are unworthy, according to our Masters. They tell us that before them, before the Great War, and The Fall, genies were chaotic by nature, unable to control ourselves, and that we needed order and discipline. When a mortal controls us, they unknowingly give us the power to revert to our chaotic nature, and we must discipline mortals that are not worthy of our gifts. Yet, through our bindings, we are given pleasure to remind us of our purpose to obey and serve. Passion and arousal are important things to a genie. They are the internal fires for which life is born…our desire is pure desire… genuine desire, we deny nothing or no one unless wished by the Masters.”
Deny nothing or no one, pure desire. Jessica’s emerald eyes stared as she attempted to process the meaning behind those words. Her head turned as Simon’s hazel eyes stared up at the ceiling as he also processed the information in his computer of a skull,
“So….”
Jessica’s face felt hot as she thought back to every person she had ever desired and how those desires changed,
“S-So…I’m, like, Bisexual? Pansexual? Like I’m able to be attracted to…anyone?”
“Mortal exploration of sexuality was something I found very curious during my time here. Apparently, there are various definitions that I found rather tedious and unnecessary,” her Mother commented as she tried to recall her time again in their world.
“You do not need to worry about them, Jessica. Though, mortals often put great effort into forming exclusive partnerships. Your father granted me titles during my time here that meant I could not be with other mortals like him without his permission.”
Simon froze again as Jessica sensed the anxiety and pain from the knots growing in his throat and stomach. The young man was unsure if Maridallura would allow him to leave the room unscathed. The cheerleader huffed in annoyance as she looked at her Mother,
“Like boyfriend or girlfriend, Mom?”
“Precisely.”
“You should know that Master’s my boyfriend, then.”
The genie paled in the face again as she looked at her daughter’s blunt confession and equally unsympathetic gaze. Once again, Maridallura appeared to glare at Simon as Jessica sighed,
“So, you are…in a relationship with your Master as well, then….”
A dorky grin managed to escape Simon’s face with nervous pride as he received a wink from the emerald eyes of his beloved blonde. Jessica snorted and rolled her eyes at her special dork in response.
“So then, how exactly do I overcome the pleasure overwhelming me, Mom? Does Master just need to wish for it, or is there something I need to do?”
Maridallura frowned as she looked at her daughter again,
“The conduit for your power is also your most sensitive point. In a battle with another genie, the easiest way for the Master to defeat their opponent is to cut off the source by assaulting it. If a genie is too overwhelmed by pleasure, she cannot fight or think. Masters can wish to suppress the binding’s pleasure, but doing so often suppresses the genie’s power. So instead, we are trained to harness the pleasure for our own power.”
Jessica nodded as her Mother gazed at her, “However, since it appears you are a genie of higher magical ability, suppressing that power would aid in hiding your presence among Masters and Mortals, but at a cost. It only buys you time before the magic becomes too thick to be ignored. However, you can fully channel and manifest your magic with much higher potential by not suppressing yourself. If you wish to become a great genie, Jessica, you must learn how to handle and endure pleasure to wield it as your own.”
So, the head cheerleader of Eastlake high school needed to learn how to use her orgasms as a weapon. As if it was some sort of sex-fu or magical ecstasy technique. Jessica rolled her hands through her hair and exhaled again in frustration.
If she suppressed her orgasms, it would be easier to handle, but she’d make herself weaker when the Masters finally discovered her. Since her Mother was so set on that being inevitable now, that would make it a bad idea. From the sound of things, she would wind up in one of those Pokémon-style battles herself.
Simon was not permitted to make her into a Pikachu. No matter how adorable that plushie in Sam’s room was.
“So what is so important about using people for sexual energy then, Mom? How is that a good thing?”
Maridallura smiled as she looked at her daughter again,
“When I was with your father, I discovered that my magic grew in power whenever we performed with each other sexually or when my presence caused the mortals’ desire envelope around me. It reminded me of my sisters and how we used to exist with one another outside our lamps. We were drawn to one another when the power of our sex could be soaked like sunlight. When your father introduced me to companions or former sexual partners, it allowed me to form my own sisterhood that provided for Theodore and myself. Now that I remember that word you mentioned, Theodore used it to describe what we were building together. So, of course, I was as close to them as I would’ve been to my sisters. It was the most natural way to be while remaining in a world of mortals. So in answer to your earlier question, yes, we genie would consider the sisters our family.”
And there it was.
Jessica felt her neck slump forward as she looked toward Simon, as her face warmed up from the embarrassment again. The conversation on the hood of his car the night before roared like the cylinders in its engine.
She was a servant of creation and, therefore, a servant of sex.
The more sexual things became, the more energy she absorbed and the more powerful she became. And her feelings for those she cared for drove those desires more strongly than any other action. Simon, above all others, but then those around her.
Jessica Edwards realized she was starting to create a sisterhood of her own, doing as her Father and Mother had done before her for their own reasons. Only her Mother didn’t really view it as a bad thing or something to be conflicted over. They were all mortals, and she was helping the mortal who had helped her. So why would it matter to her? They wouldn’t be aware of it.
“We can’t afford to make the same mistakes with the people we care about.”
“We’ve already done a few of our own.”
Jessica nodded in agreement,
“We’ll be in sync more going forward, right?”
Simon nodded to her again with a smile,
“Right. We’re more aware now but not out of the woods yet.”
Maridallura looked between both teenagers and then noticed the choker once more around her daughter’s throat,
“Jessica. What is your Master up to now?”
The teenager’s emerald eyes looked up in confusion, and she smiled at her Mother’s guarded expression. She was beginning to grow tired of having to diffuse her Mother’s paranoia at every given moment but was aware of the reason for it.
“We were just talking again, Mom. That’s all.”
“Talking with no words.”
Jessica smiled and tapped onto her choker, “Master made me this. So we can communicate without words over great distances. It does other stuff, too.”
“I see….”
The teenage genie paused as she looked at her Mother’s eyes once again narrowed at her boyfriend. Maridallura’s disdain and suspicion toward her Master only made her daughter’s anger build. Jessica thought she could at least try to show Simon some respect.
“Are you ordering my daughter around right before me, boy?”
“U-Um, No?”
“Mom! Stop!”
Jessica snapped and smacked the counter when Simon became unsettled by the question. She glared at the genie next to her,
“If he wanted to order me around, he would order me around, I don’t need to hide it from you! A good genie obeys her Master, doesn’t she?”
Maridallura’s eyes widened as her face again paled at her daughter’s words. Then, the guarded demeanor shattered with a simple question. The genie fell silent as Jessica felt her confusion grow. Why did she look so scared?
Her Mother swallowed a hard gulp, eyes clenched shut as she nodded. However, the unsettled reaction had made itself known to both teenagers. Simon managed to speak up as the silence further descended,
“I still had questions….”
Maridallura winced and nodded as Jessica looked concerned at her Master once more.
‘I don’t get it. She said it was right. What’s with her?’
‘Maybe she’s still trying to protect you from something else?’
The cheerleader raised an eyebrow and looked back to her still crestfallen parent, ‘But what, though?’
“Jessica.”
Her Mother’s voice snapped both of their attentions again as the genie finally faced her daughter with concern and gave Simon the side eye,
“Before I answer more of your Master’s questions…may I speak with you alone for a moment?”
Jessica had to stare momentarily as Simon shrugged back, equally confused. Of course, he wouldn’t refuse when he was still trying to earn her Mother’s trust.
“Um, sure, Mom….”
The young genie turned to her Master, “Meet us upstairs when you’re done?”
Simon nodded and smiled at her as his eyes became concerned, “Okay….”
As both genies stood from their stools without warning, Maridallura grabbed her daughter by the arm. Jessica’s eyes widened as her Mother hurriedly dragged her back to Simon’s room and shut the door behind them.
The head cheerleader of Eastlake High turned to see her Mother pace about the room, hand to her lip as she nervously threatened to bite her own nails off. Jessica attempted to reassure her as she smiled,
“Okay, Mom, is everything all….”
“Jessica, I must know something. I need to test you. Now.”
Once again, the blonde girl looked at her Mother confused but smiled nonetheless to help decrease her panic.
“All right, then?”
“Good.”
Her Mother hurriedly shuffled them onto the bed, “Sit here on his bed, the most natural way for you.”
Jessica shrugged as she sat on her knees and spread them out as she faced the door. The way she felt best to greet Simon whenever he would enter his room,
“Okay, now what?”
Her Mother joined her on her knees and ensured her daughter’s body faced hers. Maridallura took a deep inhale and exhale of breath if only to calm herself. She then displayed her hands upon her legs, palms open, fingers motioning and forming symbols that reminded Jessica of a belly dancer or performers she saw on television. However, they were more intricate, and her Mother pressed them to her body and face as she kept her eyes shut.
“Jessica, I want you to pretend you are asleep for a moment.”
“W-What?” the teenager scoffed, confused.
“Close your eyes, Jessica. Picture that you are falling asleep, like a meditation, and that your Master is before you.”
The confused cheerleader shrugged and did as her Mother asked. Her emerald eyes closed, and she relaxed her face. The teenage genie pictured herself drifting to sleep as Simon entered the bed beside her. Then, as her lips parted open, she felt another pair on her own.
The genie’s mind and eyes imagined the purple whisp outside the veil once more as it danced around her eyes, and she felt the waking world descend into the familiar feeling of sand. A child’s laugh echoed in the silence, and her heart filled with warmth at the reminder.
It felt like Master.
Master’s arms were around her shoulders, his lips against her skin, fingers entwined with hers. The whisp felt hostile for a brief moment and spun around.
“Mom. What are you doing?”
She felt pleasure. She felt the same spark as she did within her from her wishes, the blinding light, the power, the euphoria. She felt as if she was about to burst.
“Jessica.”
Her eyes snapped open, and in an instant, she looked around to find her Mother’s face pulling itself away from her own, the feint trails of purple and green smoke that emerged from their lips. An immense sense of sadness appeared on her Mother’s face, fear, trepidation. Maridallura couldn’t even face her after she was done with…whatever it was.
“Mom? What was that?”
“I performed a dream dance on you, Jessica. To see what was happening inside your mind, and your heart….”
“Oh,” the cheerleader processed.
A dream dance? Like, seeing inside her dreams? Could she travel inside other people’s dreams, Jessica wondered to herself.
“So, what was all that for then, Mom? To see if….”
“Jessica.”
Her eyes widened as her Mother’s voice interrupted her, the elder genie trembling and shaking as she tried to control herself. Her voice was urgent but descending from a concerned tone to a fearful whisper,
“Jessica, are you in love with your Master?”
Why does that matter?
