Chapter 259

What's next?
Mark comes back to see what happened
It left Mark very curious to know that both Miranda and Winter were still inside that room discussing their toxic rivalry with Tiffany of all people. He wanted to stay there while they chatted but he didn’t want to disturb whatever the brunette had planned.
After an hour waiting in the East Hall common room, Mark started to get a little concerned with what was happening. It couldn’t possible take that long to speak, could it.
Unlike everyone else, Mark was too curious to know what happened. He got off the couch and began to make his way back to the secret room.

“What’s going on??” Mark said as he entered the room to see Tiffany on her laptop at the table by herself, “Where did Miranda and Winter go?”
Tiffany just pointed to the door behind her, “They’re working out their differences.”
There was no way he couldn’t laugh at the idea of the two inside a small cupboard, trying to speak with each other was hilarious to anyone who knew them.
Mark pulled up a seat and sat next to Tiffany, “You sure this really is the best idea?”
She didn’t respond at first, wondering herself if she had crossed some boundaries with her friends tonight.
“Have they tried calling anyone? I’m assuming they still have their phones on them?” he asked.
She shook her head, “No reception, it’s a dead spot here.”
Almost as if she had planned this all along, like an evil but wickedly attractive genius.
“Do you know about their past?” he asked her.
“Some what, from what Miranda has told me, I don’t know if I know everything though.”
“I just don’t understand,” Mark began to speak, “This seems so obvious to me, they both want to be friends again, or at least be civil, but they’re both too stubborn to move on.”
“How so?” Tiffany asked.
“I’ve spoken to both of them about this and from those conversations, I know that this petty rivalry thing is something neither of them are okay with.”
He kept speaking, not knowing or realising that the two girls behind the door, may be listening to him.
“Miranda‘s worried she’s losing friends because of this, falling out of the group but doesn’t want to make the first move in healing their relationship. She’s felt bad any time she’s tried to one up Winter and that’s a fact.”
“Winter on the other hand still deep down feels terrible about what happened when they were in high school. I know she feels super guilty for leaving Miranda alone in that liquor store to face the police. She thinks about that all the time.”
While he spoke, Mark noticed that Tiffany was smiling. Not because of what he was telling her but because there was silence behind the door. She knew that the girls were listening to him, listening word for word.
“If they just realised that they’re both sorry about what happened, they’d be able to get over this so much easier,” he said, “Anyways… that’s all I have to say about that, I guess I’ll leave this with you.”
The brunette smiled again before he exited.
