An explosive meeting

Alone and without any support from my supposed Guardian Angel I prepare myself to face whoever is trying to invade my castle, the smoke at the entrance starts to clear and I see...nothing, no group of experienced adventurers eager to conquer my dungeon or anything close to that, but I still feel some uneasiness in the air. I hear a thud near my feet and when I look down, I see a round black object with a lit piece of rope at the top, it kind of looks like a ...

"BOMB!" I scream before the object at my feet explodes with such a **** that it knocks me back against the wall of the throne room. I feel pain for the first time since I arrived at this world and I see my HP bar decreases quite a bit bit.

HP: 500/800

That bomb is powerful enough to take almost half of my Health Points despite my defense stats! No wonder my Imps were wiped out so easily. And I still can't see signs of the intruders but there's no doubt they are aiming for my life. However, I can't fight against someone that I cannot see with my eyes...! I realize the other properties of the God's Eye Blessing I received from Ariel, it can pierce through any kind of concealment, if the enemy is still hiding then that means that they know they cannot take me in a direct fight.

I close my eyes for a moment and activate my God's Eye. Everything in the room looks exactly the same, but behind one of the pillars I see a small yellow silhouette, holding in their hand another bomb and they are ready to throw it at me but this time they won't catch me with my guard down. The silhouette throws the bomb at me but this time I am prepared for their attack. "Here! Catch!" I summon my sword and swing it to send back the bomb towards the direction it came from. The bomb explodes as soon as touches the pillar, that remains unscathed thanks to my dungeon being indestructible but the blast is strong enough to blow my enemy away from their cover.

"How the heck did he do that!" I hear a high-pitched voice yell while coughing, now that they are out of their cover, I'm able to clearly see the intruder and use my God's Eye to analyze their stats.

• A genius (for a goblin) tinkerer that was exiled from her tribe after a series of accidents caused by her limitless curiosity and complete disregard for any kind of safety standards.

As the smoke from the explosion clears, I see that the intruder is quite different than what I was expecting, she is a short, skinny woman with green skin, bright pink hair and huge ears, she is wearing a helmet that also looks like it could be used as a welding mask and overalls with lots of pouches of different sizes.

"A goblin? Did a single goblin really deal with all of my imps? I don't think so, how many of you are still hiding? Answer me!" I ask more confident now that I know that I'm just dealing with low level monsters.

"Ha! How many?! It was all me! Those little losers were even dumber than my brothers and sisters and that's saying something. They had no chance against the power of my bombs! But how are you still alive!? I have killed trolls with a single bomb but tough demon isn't hurt at all!" The goblin girl responds as she stands up and takes a defensive stance facing me, she has no visible weapons but I can guess that she is hiding a lot of surprises in her pockets.

"Oh, believe me it packed quite the punch, just not enough for someone like me. So, care to tell me why is a single goblin trying to take over a demon's castle?" I lower my sword trying to put her at ease, we are both monsters so that means we are on the same team, right?

"Oh that!? Well, I've been looking for a new place to settle in, build a lab, create bigger bombs, you know usual genius goblin stuff." She answers, however unlike me she appears to still be on edge and ready to attack me or run away in a moment's notice. "And this place was perfect for that, I just needed to...take out the trash..."

Did she just call me trash!? Ok, now she is asking for it. I am about to say something when she suddenly grabs another bomb from one of her pockets and throws it at me, I don't have enough time to throw it back at her and I brace myself for the impact but instead of a big explosion it disperses white gas all around me.

"Enjoy your nap you dumb demon! Don't worry I'll come back with an even bigger badder bomb just for you!" I hear the goblin girl scream at me while she is running away. The blessing I received from Ariel makes my body resistant to the sleeping gas but once again my normal vision is impaired, I activate God's Eye just in time to see the goblin dashing out of the room.

"Hey Bel are you dead yet? Lucy is fine but I heard quite the ruckus from here."

"Stupid bird woman! Get out of my way!

"Who are you calling stupid!? And bird!? And woman!? I'm none of those things!

I hear the sound of a strong gust of wind that blows the white smoke away and I see the goblin girl once a gain on the floor with Ariel blocking the door in front of her.

"Ah! There you are Bel, I didn't know the invader was another monster, I'll take care of it as a freebie so don't say I never did anything for you ok?" Ariel says casually as he prepares a powerful wind spell to blast away the scared goblin.

"Wait Ariel! Don't do it!" I order the trigger-happy angel.

"Wait what? Why!? She's the one that attacked us, and everyone knows that the only good goblin is a dead goblin." Ariel responds exasperated.

"You said you were looking for a place, right? Well as it happens, I'm in need of more competent, and OBEDIENT" I glare at Ariel when I say that last part, "hands around here, I could use a genius goblin like you." I get on my knee and offer the goblin my hand and help her stand up.

"I...I... I guess if you are begging me on your knees like that, I have ****, but to accept your offer!" She says quickly drying the tears that were starting to form on her eyes.

"Wait I wasn't begging you!" I try to correct her but she continues.

"Consider yourselves lucky tough demon and scary bird woman, the genius goblin Steel has decided to help your sorry lot." Steel says with a hearty laugh.

"New follower: Steel"

"Just say the word Bel, I can still kill her very slowly and painfully." Ariel says glaring at our new companion.
