Decision

After finishing our orders, Kotori and us left the cafe.

When walking through the streets of Akihabara, I walked closer towards Kotori. “So you’re bothered about being the center because of this job?”

“H-huh? You realized?”

“Of course. I think you’ve been under the weather since we announced it. If you want, I guess I can just put the role to someone else.”

Kotori took a short pause.

“I’m… just not confident that I can carry out the center position while maintaining my job as a maid… I’m afraid that if I get all that fame that it will put more pressure on both me and the cafe.”

“I see…”

“But I think I’m going to go with it. For the next concert, I’ll be the center.”

I smiled at her, “Good. I’m sure that the cafe will be very happy.”

“You sure?”

“They’re fans of μ's, right? I think they’ll love it if you shine at the center. And I think it’ll be a big step forward for yourself as well.”

Kotori widened her eyes while maintaining her gaze towards me.

“If you love your job as a maid, I’ll allow you to take two jobs at the same time, but you have to be sure that you’re up for it. Because in μ's, I want Minami Kotori, not just some ordinary maid.” I continued.

Kotori gladly exclaimed, “Yes!”

Hearing our conversation at the back, Honoka walked towards both me and Kotori. “Hmm, what’re you guys talking about?” She teased with a soft voice.

“N-Nothing! We were just talking about… the center position for the next concert!” Kotori evaded the bigger picture, but she didn’t really lie to Honoka. The orange-haired girl then looked at me, before she wrapped her hands around my arm.

“Masaki! Take me back home!”

“What?”

The girls looked at me and Honoka.

“Take her home?”

“With what?”

Honoka looked at them and smiled, “A few days ago, Masaki took me back home in his car. It beats going by public transport by a long shot!”

I can feel the girls glaring at me, some with suspicion, some with jealousy, some with excitement, and some with indifference.

I sighed, patting Honoka’s head. “Yeah, yeah. I’ll drive you home.”

Honoka did a little fist bump and smiled victoriously.

“Any of you want a ride home as well?”

“How many seats are in your car?” Kotori asked. I then started counting the seats with my fingers, before saying, “It fits a maximum of seven including the driver.”

With that, Honoka, Kotori and Umi decided to ride home with me since their houses are close to each other. Throughout the trip, Umi and Honoka struck up a few conversations here and there. Umi even compliments my tidy and clean car.

Though I noticed that Kotori often thinks in her own world during the trip. Probably thinking about her role later. Though I also noticed her smiling every so often.

The next day, Kotori came in quite late, having pulled an all-nighter thinking about the next song’s theme.

She gathered all of the members and held a sort of meeting.

They all agreed on the theme and the overall lyrics, with Kotori receiving a few feedbacks from Umi and Maki on the song. Now that a new song has been decided, the girls will be busy for the next few weeks.
