Blissful awakening

In the morning, Mazzy doesn’t even stir when you get out of bed. You smile, letting the exhausted halfling sleep while you hop in the shower. When you return to get dressed, you see her eyes open, and you both smile at each other. You walk over and gently kiss her forehead.

“Morning, beautiful. How are you feeling?”

Mazzy giggles. “Great, but my butt is sore!”

You laugh. “Hmm, I wonder why?”

Mazzy grins, and throws the covers aside. She wiggles her butt at you with a wink. “Wanna kiss it better?”

You chuckle, and plant a kiss on her butt. Mazzy giggles again, and pulls you into a big hug. After a few moments, she lets you go, and her face goes serious.

“Hey, Brian? So…last night, you said some things. Was that just the heat of the moment? Thinking with your dick? Or did you really, really mean it?”

You gently cup her cheek with your hand, and look into her wide, purple eyes. You see her worries, and her hopes. You smile, and immediately her eyes light up.

“Mazzy, if I was thinking with my dick I would have said it the very first night. I can’t even begin to describe how much better things have become since we met. And it only keeps getting better. I love you, Mazzy.”

Mazzy bites her lip, smiling widely. You’re surprised to see a tear run down her cheek, and she throws herself at you, hugging you tightly.

You’re interrupted by a ping from your phone. You glance at it, and your humor fades. There’s a message, and it’s a number you recognize. One you haven’t seen in over a year, and never expected to see again. You open the message.

“Brian, we need to talk. Call me.”

You stare at the message for a moment, before looking up to see Mazzy watching you, a concerned look on her face.

“What’s wrong? Who is it?”

You sigh and shove your phone in your pocket.
