A figure inside a darkened chamber

It’s pretty much pitch black within the antechamber, and it takes your eyes a few seconds to get used to the light. Soon enough, however, you can make out a figure standing in the far corner of the room, surrounded by weak candles. The light is just barely enough for you to make out her voluptuous figure.

“Greetings, visitor” comes a honeyed voice out of the patch of light. “You may come closer.” You do so, nervously stepping forward. You wish you had some sort of weapon in case this woman jumps at you out of the darkness, because as it stands you would be pretty screwed if that happened.

Fortunately, the nun doesn’t do anything like that, and as you get closer you can better make out her features. She’s a very beautiful woman, like literally every single person in this town apparently, and you can make out the distinct ears that bely her elven status.

“Hello, Madam” you say, trying to be as respectful as possible. The nun’s eyes seem to sparkle in the dim candlelight, an easy smile on her face.

“Thank you for arriving peacefully, dear visitor” she declares, “I suppose you wonder why you’ve been brought to our humble abode?”

“I am” you reply, taking care not to mention how you were kidnapped, “why am I here?”

“Here, let me show you” the nun says, clearing her throat. “On with the lights!” she shouts, catching you off guard.

What’s even more surprising is the astounding sight that awaits you. Instead of the wooden hall you were expecting, you’re in a strange cavern with metal walls, and an astonishing amount of strange items that you can’t even place. “What the fuck!?” you shout in shock, not knowing what to make of this.

“Yes, it is very impressive” the nun says, her features now fully visible, “this is the Chamber of Gifts!”

“Chamber of Gifts?” you ask, confused.

“This is the boundary between the mortal and godly worlds” the nun says, clearly enjoying being able to explain this to somebody, “beyond that door lies the godly realm.”

The door she’s pointing to does seem unlike anything you’ve ever seen. It’s strangely shaped, and it’s painted in a very unnatural way. It feels somewhat creepy.

“There are gods beyond that door?” you ask quietly, eyes wide as you stare it up. The nun nods sagely.

“Yes, powerful ones” she says softly, “fortunately for us, they are benevolent.” A smile falls across her face, “they often bestow gifts upon us, it’s the reason why our village is so prosperous.”

“Wow” you say, in awe at what you’re listening to. “That’s amazing”

“Yes, indeed it is” the nun replies, “but there is a reason we brought you here, and it’s not to stare at the god’s door.”

You turn to look at her, confused. “Why did you bring me here then?”
