"Alright, so I am to escort you to the capital?" Hilda asks.

"Y-" Victoria starts to speak, only to have Hilda cut her off.

It's incredibly petty and obvious power play.

"Then the simplest and easiest way is for us to take the King's Road south," Hilda declares.

"Bu-" Victoria tries to talk once more.

"We'll head for Gropesburg, stay in an inn, and then hire a carriage to take us the rest of the way to the capital," Hilda says. "We should be there in three, four days at the maximum."

Victoria just glares at Hilda, as the noble knight gives her a disingenuous smile.

"And who is going to pay for all that?" Victoria coldly asks as she crosses her arms under her bosom, intentionally making them appear even larger and more impressive.

"You are," Hilda firmly insists. "This is your trip after all."

"Oh no," Victoria puffs. "I'm not paying for a bunch of unnecessary expenses."

The whole thing would cost her three, four gold coins tops. Something she could easily afford, but it's the principle of the matter.

"Unnecessary?!" Hilda spits, her face turning red. "What do you expect us to do? March straight through the woods, and sleep outside under the stars?!"

Victoria's face turns pale at the thought, but at the same time, she refuses to back down.

"Why not? I'm fine with doing that," she lies. "Is the big, scary warrior woman too soft to go without her feather bed for a night?"

"Of course not!" Hilda growls, even though she actually hasn't slept in anything other than the finest beds money can buy for years.

"Then let's go! We're wasting daylight!" Victoria barks.

"I'd be delighted to!" Hilda practically shouts.

The two women turn away and make a 'humph!' noise at the exact same moment as they start marching in a random direction (neither one has much sense of where they are going), each one confident the other will crack first and beg the other to take the easy route instead.
