Having his own discoveries

Tobias knew from the moment it happened that Tab was hiding something from him. While he did know what, if a security camera at a bank suddenly cut out, the guards wouldn’t just assume that nothing happened since they didn’t see anyone. Also Tab was the same as them, and they were a horrible liar.

So when Tab and Ronnie wanted to go to the mall, they stayed back to think. he didn’t have the first hand experience Tab did, but it was clear to him that she was a lot more independent than he first thought. He tried to think about what she was feeling, but despite being the same person inside, he couldn’t understand why she would shut him out. Maybe she felt strange about the female body, considering they have the same memories of being a guy all their life? But she had no issues before at the party.

Tobias decided to take a walk around campus and think it through. He walked through the more open field and thought about what exactly his and Tab’s relationship was. They were the same person, but they were clearly two different aspects of that person. They shared thoughts and they felt fully in control of both bodies, but right now as Tobias they couldn’t tell what they were thinking as Tab, which was enough to give them a headache just thinking about.

They were sitting on a bench when suddenly they were struck by such an intense wave of emotions he almost falls to the ground. They knew they were from Tab and knew it was serious, but couldn’t tell what it was. It made them sad, almost like Tab was feeling such strong emotions that even closed off she couldn’t contain them and they’re spilling over. Tobias tried to call out mentally, but it didn’t seem to connect. He tried as hard as he could to listen to what’s happening.

They tried to listen more, but it took a lot of strain to get that, and soon after, the emotions died down and nothing was coming through again.

Suddenly everything made much more sense. Tab wasn’t scared that she was a woman now, she was scared that she’s just the ‘clone’ body while he is the main one. Which to be fair, Tobias has been unintentionally thinking that way too, considering himself the prime body. Because they share thoughts, was that what implanted that anxiety into Tab? He worries that his own feeling had spread to her and made her feel like less human than him.

He needs to find a way to make this right. He needs to make sure Tab knows that she is just as much a part of a whole as he is, no main or second body, no copy. Now it’s just up to him to figure out how you apologize to yourself
