“No. Just trying to make sense of all this mess and thinking of what I have to do now. How’s your aunt?”

Nanami smiled. “Healthy, at least. I don’t know when she’ll wake up, but I doubt it’ll be a long sleep. Don’t worry. I bet she’ll be able to answer our questions once she’s on her feet. She knows a lot more about all this than I do.”

“I hope you’re right. I’m too deep in something I don’t understand. I want to go back home and get a proper rest.”

Nanami sat down next to Will. Her body was a little stiff from nerves. “I suppose I really do owe you a date now.”

“You do,” Will chuckled tiredly. “But you owe me a date and nothing more, just so we’re clear.”

Nanami nodded. “So… Everything else is up to me, right?”

“That it is.”

She took in a deep breath and turned to look at Will. Then she leaned in, and lightly and tentatively pressed her lips against his.
