Remembering the last call.

Having gotten home for once from shopping not been depressed by the sight of the streets and unloaded everything and set it up in the garage for latter. Sitting down to wait for your dad to join the call you cast your mind back to the call he made a few days ago after getting out of the lockdown your uncle had imposed on everyone. Even now the memory puts a smile on your face as you think that was the funniest thing you have heard in a long while, what with what your Uncle had ended up revelling to your farther.

Your Uncle is a true lone survivor type, living on the land owned by your family for a couple of generations on your grandmothers side. He has been all on his own with nobody to keep him company or talk to for years now since both your grandparents passed away or so everyone had thought. Turned out he talked to a female forest ranger by the name of Alexis Breeze who worked out of a massive look out tower bordering his land, even visited her in the nicer parts of the year to keep her company. About a week or so before you caught the virus he went to visit her as she had missed their last two scheduled calls and he was worried she might have gotten hurt or suffered some sort of equipment issue and needed help.

Even after your dad and his group arrived, that was funny to hear about as your uncle had no idea your dad had already had the virus like him and knew a lot more about it then he did. Sighing you had found that a pleasant distraction from what is going on right now in town and around the world in general.

As the call goes through you are more relieved then you should be, but the ability to communicate with people has been going in and out recently. A few of the women you have been keeping in touch with have gone silent and you do not know if it is due to outages or something worse.
