The resulting fallout and stress from the prolonged divorce caused her work to suffer and eventually, she closed her practice and took a sabbatical. Her Sabbatical was several months of depression and subsequent recovery and being taken care of by her son. She and her son grew closer, though she still failed to find romantic love afterwards. Her dates haven't amounted to much. Her closest relationship is with her son at the moment. She is concerned about him also taking a sabbatical and delaying his studies, but appreciates the help. She also is concerned for his romantic life, but doesn't quite know how to handle it. Darryl has been pushing her to find a stable partner and to give him a bigger role in finances, pushing for a larger role in the practice, which she is considering. She has decided to move from Houston due to her husband's continued presence and restart her practice. Reason for coming to Stepford: Former college football player and psychiatric major (hoping to follow in Mommy's footsteps). Magna cum laude grad, torn ligament. Due to the stress of the injury, he fell into depression, eventually resulting in him getting dumped by his long time girlfriend and moving home after graduation. This coincided with his mother's divorce. He moved in with his mother and even became her replacement receptionist before she closed up. He took a gap year instead of pursuing graduate studies, and took care of his depressed mother. These two events shaped his view of his mother. He became more romantically and sexually attracted to his mother, but also saw that she needed a strong influence in her life. She had fallen apart and closed her practice because of the divorce, but after some depression, the lack of work stress made her less stressed Darryl realized she needed someone to handle everything for her, including, potentially, her practice entirely, and take care of her such that she would only focus on self-improvement without the stress of work. She also needed a strong hand to keep her from spiraling. This growing thought and his continued longing for Anna, led to him scouring the internet for some relief.
