Mai enraptured, Ty Lee scared stiff.

As with the last movie Mai saw, she watched it with unblinking eyes. ...well, not literally unblinking eyes...but she was watching it intensely. Her hand was still moving on auto, popping one kernel into her mouth about once every...three minutes. The fact I noticed this was a testiment to how "good' the movie was.

Which was to say, it was crap. I supposed, however, that to someone who had never seen a special effect in their life, it was amazing. Way too much CGI for my taste. Still, I was glad Mai was enjoying it. I had a feeling that anything that would get her heart pumping...assuming she had one...was a thing she'd enjoy. ...god, I hope she never hears about skydiving...

On the other hand...there was Ty Lee. Oh, poor Ty Lee. The acrobat was scrunched up in her chair, covering her eyes periodically with the box of gummy worms. I leaned over. "Relax...it's all fake, okay? No one is really dying..." I told her, putting a reassuring hand on her knee. I had to put it on her knee because the way she was scrunched up made it impossible to touch her shoulder. Did this girl not have bones? Or a reasonable facsimile?

She looked up at me. "Th...they're not?" She uncurled herself a little. "Why didn't you tell me that before we came in here?" she nearly screamed. A few people shushed her. ...I think Mai threw a popcorn kernel at her. I calmed her down. "I'm sorry, it slipped my mind. It's not something I often have to tell people," I explained in a whisper.

Huffing, Ty Lee stuffed some gummy worms into her mouth and chewed them almost angrily. Don't ask, I wasn't sure how it was supposed to look either. I had a feeling I wasn't getting anything from these two during the movie. Mai was too taken with the film and Ty Lee was probably pissed at me...and Mai was right there.
