Hit and miss

Watching Ty Lee's reactions to the previews ranked right up there with watching a little kids reaction to their first ever fireworks show. Her eyes opened wide with surprise and wonder, excitement causing her to bounce in her seat whenever a preview for an action or comedy flick came up. Mai, while much more subdued than Ty Lee, also seemed remarkable surprised, her hand moving on a slow auto-pilot as she munched popcorn, more than once not even picking up a kernel before 'popping' it into her mouth.

The next preview was of a recently released animated movie, something that was show with 3D and special graphics. Ty Lee's eyes opened wider if at all possible and she not to subtly nudged me, "John...what is that?!" I chuckled at her response, "In this time, they can make drawings and cartoons look almost reach with the technology they came up with." I doubted my words even crossed Ty Lee's mind, instead she was deeply focused in the cute animations of a bunny and a squirrel.

Turning to Mai I leaned over, "I think the previews broke her." Mai smirked a little bit but said nothing as the next movie came up to the Que, this one being another new horror film that was one of those 'long awaited sequels' that I felt would flounder instead of be a blockbuster. This time it was Mai's chance o be interested, given how much she seemed to enjoy adrenaline rush entertainment it kind of made sense how much attention she paid to something designed to give you the willies. Mai's eyebrows were raised up significantly and she had stopped eating popcorn, instead watching with interest as the famed movie serial killer stalked across the screen after a pair of frightened teenagers.

Before I could say something I felt Ty Lee grab my arm, her body shivering as she cowered into my shoulder, just barely peeking out the side to watch the preview...she really was a scardy cat apparently. With the final preview done and Ty Lee pried off my arm by a patented Mai glare, the movie began to Mai's interest and Ty Lee's horror...
